Lower Oil Prices Are a Free-Market Victory

I will always remember a close family friend who was the General Manager of the local newspaper. One of his duties was the hopeless task of attempting to negotiate with the newspaper's unions.

Never, in the history of the universe, was there ever such an assemblage of clueless lunkheads. You could spend the rest of your life trying to educate those knuckleheads about economic realities and it would be a complete waste of time and effort. Those nitwits were utterly incapable of comprehending that their stupid intransigence would ultimately result in the destruction of their own livelihood. Those Neanderthals finally succeeded in shooting themselves in the foot.

Eventually, I realized there are some people who are so colossally dense that they are beyond any chance of enlightenment. They are never going to get it. They're a waste of time.

Sean reminds me of them.

"Your" a longstanding defender of all things left of center. Not that I get the sense you care about, or even necessarily believe, in any of that crap. You just view Lit as Team Left or Team Right and you set out each day to battle anyone that you perceive as being on the opposing side of "your team" in a vain attempt to garner votes for MVP status. Mostly a function of your deep seated need to belong, to be included. Everyone has their insecurities, yours just happen to be obvious.

Dialing up the #AscriptionAgain, I see.

Tell us again how it's unfair to compare President Obama to Reagan, because reasons.

Not everyone, Ishtard, just scum like you.

I haven't been to these threads until yesterday nor had I ever seen Sean's posts before, but I quickly surmised that he is one of those leftists that can't tolerate anyone's viewpoint but his own without going into juvenile name calling. It's all his has to respond with. Another example of how leftists can tolerate and accept anything but the traditional American viewpoint and typically respond with intellectually empty responses.

How DARE Sean take issue with your regurgitation of Fox and Friends talking points! The nerve of that guy!

Is that right? Just the lefties that name call, got it. Fucking retard.

Just because everything you post (aside from your 27 irrelevant canned responses) is regurgitative doesn't mean everyone else's are. If you find someones post a simplistic talking point the source should not matter should it? You should be able to go to your handy, OFA talking point generator and get the appropriate response to actually rebut the argument being advanced.

Advancing your argument takes more than "You are wrong" and "FAUX NEWS!!!"

Isn't he the one that posted yesterday that Rush is always right? I find it hard to keep the second string RWCJers separate.

He's tertiary (third string).

Yeah, he's the one who has been baiting libruls and then getting shocked...SHOCKED!...when they respond in kind.

I don't think he'll have a long shelf-life here. He's already starting to run out of talking points.

I agree. It is a direct result of the technological innovation called fracking. I believe the Koch brothers were instrumental. But most on this site seem to be of a leftist political persuasion, there's no getting through to them. Anything ID'd by the universities and press as bad they will be against, including oil, free markets, personal responsibility, self-reliance, etc. They think the right is just a bunch of ill informed gun toting, hating, racist, polluting rubes when nothing could be further from the truth.

Fracking, Libya, and over producting product.

you forgot

REVISION OF FACTS as well

He is Otiose Rather....:)

Rather, is...um rather apt. He does manufacture a lot out of whole cloth. About as effectively too. Using a printer in place of a typewriter.

Is this a 'robust' economy that we can be proud of?

Here are some examples:

While crashing in recent months, gas prices at the pump still averaged this year above the pre-Obama annual averages.
The Deficit for the just-concluded Federal budget year was larger (in both dollar terms and as a percent of the economy) than in the years before the crisis.

Sales of existing homes are weaker than from before the bubble era, and sales of newly-built homes in 2014 was still weaker than all but two of the 45 years (!) leading up to Obama.

The Unemployment Rate for all of 2014 is on pace to be worse than any annual average under Bush and worse than most Clinton years as well.

Household Income is 4.5% lower compared to when the previous recession started seven years ago.

The Poverty Rate -- the percent Americans living in poverty -- is worse than any year under Bush and worse than most Clinton years too despite the fact that the elevated Obama government spending for the poor suppresses the real poverty rate.

The economy over the last twelve months ending in September rose by $727 billion (in raw dollars) but only after the Federal Reserve pumped $710 billion into the economy during the same period. The 120 days it took for the Dow to jump from 17K to 18K gave people some tickles but it is almost five times longer than the 26 days it took for the Dow to jump from 13K to 14K before the last recession.

The Economic Stress Index in Obama's first year was indeed at a devastating record high of 19, yet the Index is closing 2014 at an elevated 8. While this is a big improvement, it is still weaker than the four years leading up the recession (2004-2007) when the Index averaged annually a 5. The same four years under Clinton, the Index averaged a 3 and the same years under President Reagan it averaged a 4.

Why is the stress index still elevated?

Simple:

The Chief is becoming to increasingly desperate to downplay the recent spate of good news here in America.

It's sad watching him, really.

Even Miles and Vetty know enough to shut up when the news is this good.

The Chief stands alone.

Okay, he'll have his little second-tier popcorn farts like query and wat tyler fawning over his words, but it's not the same....

A fuck load better than the way your team left it....

Despite every attempt possible to try and blame O for EVERYTHING negative since 20JAN09 from hang nails and jock itch to what crazy fuckers on the other side of the planet are up to, all 110% Obama's fault.

LMAO

That's ascription.

It was never my "team."

I voted for the lunatic Bob Barr...

Get back to me when you decide to become an adult and not a high school cheerleader for 'your' team.

Tell us again how you're a not-Republican.

Sure you support 99% of the Republican platform loudly and vocally every day here, but that doesn't mean anything, right?

I enjoy BobsDownSouth's little asides assigning rankings of "secondary" or "tertiary*" commentators in a desperate bid to get the  to be "first string" for his "team.

"Put me in coach. I'm ready to play. Today."

*which he always explains as third string as if those in his hypothetical audience could not deduce that from context.

I thoroughly enjoy his status of ignorance now that I have him on ignore.

His antics designed to get my attention are quite amusing.

A life might be in order, but that would mean surrendering all that outrage and hate which Leftist politics so seem to engender...
