Question on canning

Sometimes the lids don't seal right. Is it okay to reuse them?
 
No. Botulism.

Wait. Are these really ample lids?
 
Oh, I thought this was a thread on firing employees. I canned two last week.
 
Make sure the jar lip is clean, no bits of what you're canning on them. I always wipe them off with a cloth after filling the jars, before placing the lids on.
I did 60 quarts of pickles, plus some other stuff, this summer and they all sealed without issue.

No, my mom is in her 90's and suffering from Alzheimer's, so probably couldn't even remember how to make them. Not that she could even lift the canner anymore.
I did use her recipe though.
