The right takes the side of the man who owns the factories and pays the wages. These are the same people who have over the ages given us slave labor and the fuedal system. The rich are the ones who gave us the world that Charles Dickens writes about. You know, the best of times and the worst of times. When the very rich drove through the streets of london pushing through a crowd of hungry begging children and thought that was the way it should be.

The birth of labor unions gave the working man a touch of equality. Not too much but just a touch. If they were willing to cut off their incomes and go on strike, they could hurt the rich man in the one place he would feel, in his wallet.

Government in some countries have passed laws to help the working man. Not in america though, in america we worship wealth and kiss the ass of the rich. Every single wealthy industrial nation in the world, treats their citizens better than america does.

Check out the living standard in Northern Europe and specially the Nordic countries. I do not think the living standard of a poor person in USA comes even close to the living standard of a poor person in for example Sweden.

You 'd be surprised how un-left (not necessarily right, but defnly capitalist) most so-called "socialist" countries are.

What do you know about chinese unions? Well, there is one über-union, but believe me: it's just made up. You never heard of a miner strike, despite chinese mines are the most dangerous in the world due to lack of security standards.

No comparison to your unions, really fighting for their members. Or the German unions. That's the irony of it: you need capitalism to push the left to do left things. When I got my last social security income tally before I retired I made less money every year I belonged to a union than when I worked non-union. And the unions fee'd me to the poor house. My union card cost me 100X the prevailing wage for my craft, I paid monthly dues, and I paid hourly assessments for whatever the union sponsored. There is a reason why Berlin/Stuttgart/München got more than 15% of aliens, but only have a homicide rate of 1.8 (Berlin, the worst of them), while that of New York (5.6) is nearly as high as Liberia's capital (5.7).

We've got Blacks, but they're one of the least dangerous. Most crimes are done by Germans, Arabs and Turks (or Kurdish), and some by Vietcongs, but mostly between them.

I think you can compare the tribal thinking of Kurds or Arabs with that of most Black Americans or Hispanics.

But how would those countries have done if we didn't do everything we could to make sure that they failed. If you wanted to talk about one or two of these countries than we can hold a conversation. However if you pile them all in one pile, then it becomes a question of our behavior rather then theirs.

So when the wall came down the Germans fucked up by consolidating under the West German system? They would have been more of a European powerhouse since if only they had been ruled by the GDR?

That worker's paradise would have better healthcare for me then I can get at home, in spite of our countries efforts to make the whole country crash and burn.

I am not a wealthy person and I want my country to give more of a fuck about our people then they do.

She took me all over Essen, a city of well over a million. We drove all over that place from one turkish neighborhood to another, looking for a slum. We couldn't find one.
