The right takes the side of the man who owns the factories and pays the wages. These are the same people who have over the ages given us slave labor and the fuedal system. A friend of mine ( we work at the same place make the same wages) Also has a part time job. He and his wife pays for a nice brick home on three acres in a nice neighborhood and four cars while putting his two sons through collage so they and their kids will have a better life. Yeah. It's tough but he knows that is the only way to get it done. Even he invests in a 401K (into Large middle size and small companies.)

Walmart is the biggest retailer in the world, and if you spent all day I don't think you could find fifty different products that are made in america. You can find all the major corporations represented, but not many 'made in america' tags.

Since Reagan we have stopped nearly all restrictions on the money of the rich. They can sent their money to china and have their factories built there and pay three or four bucks a day for labor. That's why you can buy a flat screen TV for a couple of hundred bucks. It was made with slave labor.

Minimum wage is way too much to ask these companies to pay. The americans would have to work for wages similar to what the chinese workers make for them to bring their jobs back here.


These are american companies in name only. They don't give a damn for the american worker or america. They outsource their labor and hide their profits in off shore banks to avoid taxes. There is nothing good or 'american' in their actions.

I have been self employed for the most part of my life. I have never made a cent that I didn't earn. I have bought two houses and lost them through bad judgement in my choice of women. They aren't called house keepers because they clean house you know. I live now on a few odd jobs and my SS. When Scott was elected gov. I was getting $195. in food stamps and five hundred and ninety bucks SS. Today I still get the five ninety but the food stamps have went down to eighty three bucks a month.

I have always lived hand to mouth and moved around a lot. I live and do business in a vast american black market. I know that I am far from normal but I think that I understand what drives the 'normal ' guys today and what they need to be successful. What they need is government help in the form of changing the laws to restore tariffs and taxes. And a training program to fill the openings in all those new factories that the rich would have to build here to sell here.

The reason for this is simple: for most people, seeing the west was only possible via immigration. You couldn't just travel to see it. Can you imagine that: sitting on a roof, looking to the West, and knowing: you can go 10000 miles east - but never one mile west, till you reach the age of 65. This made the west look like Eldorado. Fucked up is the wrong word. Imagine Europe buys 75% of American industry to do whatever they want to do with it. Close fabrications that are too much competition. Making half of any everyday pub an overpriced yuppie entity that need years to realize this doesn't work in your hood. Exchange your mall of trust with the last one you would go into because of prices/service/offers. Making your everyday work 10 times more complicated because of a 10 times bigger bureaucracy. Facing between 200-500 % rise of costs like rent, electricity, transportation, not only in the city, but even in the last shithole of the republic.

Then you get a glimpse of what "consolidating under the West German system" means. And no, I'm not whining. This system I live in is still a good place to live. I wouldn't exchange it with the former one, as I profit most of it.

But the GDR system wasn't as bad as people think it was. Nobody had to hunger. We had no homeless. Everything was cheap, except technical equipment. For somebody heading for stability and security in his life, this was a much better place than the western part. We had our fun and made the best out of what we had. People were much more relaxed and careful as they are today.

it's no surprise to me that Putin prefers the old GDR system for Russia. It worked. Though we exchanged it for another system.

Why ? It's a long story. Let's say: the offer they made was too good.
