Okay. That is just opposite the gas station though. Mathilda could easily be feeling a little bit apprehensive after what has happened and mix things up a little.

One good thing about diesel engines is that they can run on certain cooking oils. Like what restaurants use in deep fryers. It's called bio diesel, and that's why I made the pick up a diesel. No one will be taking cooking oills from store so finding gallons of it in restaurants, supermarkets etc... not unbelieveable.

I think the generator would have run for one or two days before running out of fuel, unless someone shut it off because the noise was drawing walkers to the hotel (which could make our lives interesting...). So it could just need to be started or it could need minor repair and/or refueling.

As for the water stiuation. If the hotel is on a gravity pump, it wouldn't need power to get water. http://www.instructables.com/id/Worlds-greenest-water-pump/

I know a lot of hotels where I live (Orlando) have installed solar panels for heating hot water. A lot of houses are doing so as well. The cost is covered in rebates from both the Gov't and power companies. The cost savings can be up to a third of your power bill. So this could give us hot water as well. Just a thought if there's enough sun in the great white north to make this feasible.

As for my character she is a creation of my imagination, but not to far from who I imagine myself to be if zombies become real.

I was thinking that it may have needed minor repair. Maybe a worker event went out to see why it stopped. If it were out of fuel, (and if it were a deisel engine generator) would it also work on cooking oil? I didn't know that.. and you're right, people wouldn't really get that off the shelves.

I really like the idea of solar panels. It would be awesome if the hotel had them.. and if the hotel was in any way modern, then I guess it could have them.

As far as I know any diesel engine can workd on bio diesel. There is a way to process it and purify it so you get better mileage and it lowers the maintenance needed. But you can just pour it in the gas tank and it will work as long as there are no chunks of fish or fries floating around in it.

As for teh solar panels, I'll let someone else decide if we have them or not.
