Neither one of us can prove that. I'd be willing to bet that the people who are running those companies are both old and white. Now whether they give them airtime because they honestly think they are relevant, want to make the black community look bad, or just because it gets under some people's skin is well beside the point.

But when have any of the liberals on here brought up Jesse or Sharpton as "hey this guy said, so it must be so!"

Were they part of the grand Jury?

6-why not "protest" the people who are responsible for this alleged racism? Why not storm sity hall, the police station, the courthouse?

They know that certain people are controversial and used to camera time so they use them. Read a great anecdote about Sharpton the other day. (In Slate? Salon? something left leaning) He was doing a corporate shakedown. Allegedly to get more black folks in the organization or something. Angry black protesters threatening and in some case carrying out violence like the murdered witness after a cop is cleared only serve to drive that wedge deeper. Cops all believe the shooting was justified. They all have been in situations where it could have escalated with a much larger, often black suspect.

Working towards getting more cops from their own community would be more effective. The reality is you are not ever going to get enough interested, qualified black recruits trained to self police the black neighborhoods.

Having concerns and questions pre-grand-jury totally reasonable... after, totally understandable if not in my view reality based. The absolute over-reaction to the death of a guy almost certainly headed for an untimely death, even if not by cop is going to cause cops to pull back. This is going to embolden criminals and increase criminal activity in those neighborhoods. The victims of those crimes will be black. The increase in crime will just exacerbate the impetus behind aggressive tactics by cops and the cycle worsens. You will see less community policing and more swat raids.

I'll take your word for it. But like I said it makes sense. It's basically how we ended up with sanctuary cities in California. The cops couldn't be effective when people refused to talk to them out of fear of being deported or getting someone they loved deported.

Well as has been mentioned there are a LOT of reasons why we glorify the bad guys and vilify the cops. I think it's real easy for whites to kind of ignore, not be aware of, forget the sixties. I might not have been there but my father did march with Martin and Malcolm and did have hoses turned on him. I don't know if he was ever personally there for dogs (I assume not since that sounds like the kind of thing he would have brought up) and did rally with Huey. I was raised by him and spent time around my uncles who had similar experiences. I do my best to be aware of when my father's morality is starting to creep up but we are to some extent who our parents raise us as.

Unfortunately some of this is just shit we have to cry about and let it play out for another generation.
