When I wrote my first submission which was basically an autobiography, I was unaware of how rabid some readers are. I made the mistake of putting it in LW. At the time, I thought "Loving Wives" was a category for stories about married couples having any type extramarital affair, be it cheating, swinging, or in my case, polygamy. Looking back, I wished I had put it in "Group Sex".

The harsh compliments I received were brutal, especially when they are essentially talking about your life. That being said, I don't think they were nearly as harsh as the comments in the link provided by the OP or even Payday's stories. Those readers practically want to hang writers by their scrotums.

I don't think I'll ever write for that category again.

LW is the home of the troll and it also has it's share of category police.
Because I thought two of my stories were really love stories, I put them in Romance. I get comments like:

If you weren't a wimpy Brit you'd have put this in Loving wives where it belongs.(They featured the aftermath of a break up)

I put a later story in LW and get
"Nice story, wrong category"

LW is probably the worst but it happens in most categories, A few people with a narrow view of what they think should be in a certain category will 1 bomb and dis any story that doesn't conform to what they think should be there.

I've put forward the solution often enough before so I'm not getting into it again. Laurel is the ultimate arbiter and I leave it to her.

Sub categories would be too much work and then they would have to do it for every category. Incest would end up mother/son brother/sister....

As for LW the category has seriously devolved over time and is now nothing but cucking, BTB revenge stories and pretty much about nothing but the rape and torture of women, the degradation and humiliation of husbands and the beating and dismemberment of the wives lovers.

Its a fucking cesspool and the site wants it that way right now.

There was a thread awhile back where a reader was saying one of his favorite LW authors was having his stories moved to EC because they weren't stories of revenge and cucking.

Laurel posted in it she moved it because the crowd there was upset. So in other words she is "cleaning up" a cesspool by removing anything resembling a decent story.

And the mouth breathers there? I did a story on Valentines day in LW and it was so over the top it really couldn't be taken seriously

I wrote it for two reasons, one to piss off what I feel is the most repugnant readership on this site. But two....to see how bright they were. To see if they knew they were being put on by this spoof of everything that pisses them off.

In this case its not site reason, but the unreasonable audience of one category.

As for stories that don't fit a certain mold....I have a killer idea for a series that would center around a group fo people who have incest fantasies about mom/dad/sis etc....but unlike the incest stories here these people know its wrong and would never try so....

they get together like a swingers gathering and they mingle and find appropriate partners example an older woman looking for a son starts chatting up a young guy looking for a mom. Then they go off into their rooms and have a sexual role play so they harmlessly live out their fantasies.

Problem? Where? Can't go in incest because even with a lot of incest dialogue its not real. Mature? EC? All the incest dialogue would squick people so....

I've written parts of it, but will never post it here. It will get killed wherever I put it.

But your point seconds mine about LW being like prison with all the dregs in one place.

Its just seems a shame that a faction of losers has ruined an entire category. LW is to story side what the GB is to the boards.
