Forgetful Remembrance

Are you starting to forget the past? Little things that you probably aren't even aware of, like that school trip in the third grade or your 5th birthday party? What did you get? Was there cake? White or chocolate?

Is it a blessing for you? Or a curse? Depends on the memory I suppose. Losses. Pet passings. It becomes a part of us, our "general makeup" whether we remember it or not.

I work hard at forgetting vast swathes of my past. other than beloved pets, there's little about my childhood worth holding on to.

i haven't been able to remember most of my childhood for ages. it is what it is.

I tend not to forget stuff like that. The memories are still clear. But now I often forget my pin number all the time, my mobile number (had both for years), bits of my job (had for years) and the word for something. Must be age.

i think most people have a hard time remembering their own cell number these days. i mean, it's not like remembering phone numbers in general is something we have to do anymore when the phones do it for us.

I remember my cell number, my bank number, key codes for the houses of all my regular clients, conversations. but i'm bad with names, dates and titles.

Sometimes I can't remember much but then something will happen and the past will come back clear as if it happened yesterday.
Don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Some forgetting is good. Leaves room for new stuff. My fifth birthday was over fifty years ago, so no, I don't remember what if cake (if any) there was.

I will miss the memories of my parents, and my grandparents. I wonder if they are really gone or just being held in compacted storage media sectors. Or maybe they are just a brain tumor away of accessing them in a George Malley sort of way.
