Progressives’ overlooked winning formula: How Democrats can rebound in 2016

The post-election consensus is that the party is missing a broad economic message. It need only look to the left

This originally appeared on Next New Deal.

The big post-election consensus is that Democrats believe, as The New York Times put it, they were missing “a broad economic message to enthuse supporters and convert some independents.”

So what would that missing narrative be? The point of a narrative is to give people an explanation of what they are experiencing that includes what is wrong, who is responsible, and what we can do about it.

Take a look at two explanations of what’s happening that are very similar but different in important ways.

The first, from Republican message guru Frank Luntz, writing in The New York Times: “[F]rom the reddest rural towns to the bluest big cities, the sentiment is the same. People say Washington is broken and on the decline, that government no longer works for them — only for the rich and powerful.”

Now that Marxist Elizabeth Warren has been elevated to a position of leadership in the new Democrat Senate minority, it's plain to see the far left has taken over the Party. Her bat shit craziness will help to assure a Republican majority for some years into the future.
Elizabeth Warren is not a Marxist. That's a lie spread by America hating spineless Vietnam-era Marines.

Or, it might be the only hope for a new Democratic majority.

It doesn't matter what the democrats do.
It is the republicans time to be president.
Hell, can't you people keep up?

It's a numbers game. Democrats don't come out for midterms, Republicans do. There were a lot more Democratic seats up for election this time. Next time, it will be the Republicans trying to run on something besides hating the black man.

Democrats can always find a way to pussy out of a victory, but it till be hard for them to fuck up 2016.

She is a Marxist, She promotes government run health care, socialized medicine, She states:

"I will confiscate the wealth other people create and give some of it to you."

"We believe that the Internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality."

"We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we a

re proud to fight alongside them."

"We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage."

"We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt."

In regard to Occupy Wall Street she said:

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she says. “I support what they do.”

"We believe--I can't believe I have to say this in 2014--we believe in equal pay for equal work."

“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did.

“Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless — keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”

What "social contract" is she talking about? The only social contract in America is the Constitution. It doesn't say anything about the re-distribution of wealth, it doesn't say anything about a federal authority to control wages.

Her beliefs and much of the Democrat Party platform are Marxist in nature.

Not one bit of that would make her a Marxist. It might make her a progressive or social democrat. You do understand the difference, don't you? Public education would be Marxist by the standard you're applying -- it is a plank of the Communist Manifesto -- but we've had it in this country since decades before Marx was ever heard of.

In order for the Democrats to rebound, they have to shoot all of their commies.

Let the Pubs shoot their Teabaggers first, all several million of them. Then we'll consider shooting our Commies, both of them.

Keep pushing the Dems that way.

The left turn by the party did wonders for them in 2010 and 2014.

The left turn by the party did wonders for them in 2006 and 2008. (Unfortunately, once he got behind the desk, Obama turned out to be a Republican.)

It's always "Commies" with the Vettebigot.

The butthurt is deep, can't say I blame him....the Marines took a flawless track record into Vietnam and proceeded to get their collective asses kicked up one side the Mekong delta and down the other.

To this day they're the laughingstock of the local VFW.

Elizabeth Warren is an example not only of Leftism, but of Democrats having a SPINE.

That is the path to victory...
