I voted golf, which I took to mean energetic wanking.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Breakdown sets with free weights, with a few machines in the mix because gravity only goes in one direction.

At home, or in the gym? Do you have a standard series for each day?

I take a leisurely walk every morning, coffee in hand. A real killer workout.

I lift 200 pounds every morning when I get out of bed. Then again in the afternoon after my nap.

I walk, I stretch, and I got these two concrete blocks I lift around with ease.

I used to belong to one of the big training gyms, but it got too expensive. I joined a chain gym for $9.99/month fee. They have enough weights and machines that I don't wait. They don't have a hot tub or a sauna, but I never used those anyway.

About 10 years ago, I broke my upper arm bone. The ball end split open 5mm. Any larger and I would have need surgery. The shoulder muscle actually pulled the bone apart as I tried to keep my balance. I fell down, anyway. There was nothing could be done, except give me a sling and pain killers while the split filled with bone scar. I was told in very plain terms what it would mean if I split it again. This meant at least 6 months with no great loads, so I quit going to the gym.

A year later, I started having severe back pains. An xray revealed an elegantly curved spine between my shoulder blades. In the year of favoring my right arm, the left shoulder had pulled my backbone a 1/4 inch off center. I went back the the gym and concentrated on shoulder and upper back exercises. It hurt like hell, but in 8 weeks, I had full pain free mobility in my right shoulder and the back pain was gone.

I do 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise. I start with a weight light enough to finish the first set, rest one minute and start the next set. Somewhere about the 5th rep, I can't finish the motion and drop to 5 lbs lighter weight and continue. The idea is to get all 30 reps finished with clean motion, dropping the weight down each time the muscle can't finish. This is a fairly old fashioned regime, but I like it. I do upper body and lower body in the same session. I was doing treadmill afterward, but right now a knee is giving me trouble, so I am letting it rest a couple weeks.

II have found lifting and getting rid of pudge to be wholly unrelated.

i purchased an entry level rower about a month ago and have been rowing 5 times a week, 600 strokes (about 27 minutes) a day. i have already noticed a difference in my strength and physical wellbeing. there is a lot of pudge to lose. i do not like the gym. i am not a fan of exercise. i like this, because i can put on a netflix show and knock it out. this next month, i will be adding an additional 300 strokes a day.

last year, i was taking a jazz class, until i injured my foot and knee over the summer. i decided i needed to take up something less strenuous on my body. once i get my body into better shape, i may go back to a taking dance class.

i actually think i'm done with golf.
i haven't swung a club in about 2 yrs and i don't miss it one bit.

the best part was when the drinks cart came by whichever fairway we were on.
