I tried horse when I was in Europe. It weirded me out at first, but really it's just another herbivore. It wasn't that great  I'm sure it wasn't cooked as good as Seela would cook it! :)

Braised oxtail soup with broad noodles and whatever fresh veggies and greens I had to hand, which turned out to be sweet corn, carrots, celery, onion, cherry tomatoes, some salad greens (chiffanaded and added at the last moment just to wilt them) and TWO, yes that's TWO different kinds of mushrooms. Crazy mushroom lady said it's ok to do that, and she was right! Thank you crazy mushroom lady! :p

^^^ looks yummy!

The fat kid in me wanted sweets, so I baked some cinnamon rolls. I used a recipe that basically makes a biscuit dough so there's no need to wait for it to rise. It was quite tasty. :D

Pan fried cajun Chicken breast sandwich.

Took a boneless skinless breast, pounded it thin, put it in egg wash, coated it with my cajun seasoning and lightly covered it with Japanese bread crumbs.

Fried the breast on both sides searing in the flavors creating a fairly nice crust but not cooking it all the way.

I finished the breast in the oven at about 450 F convection setting for about 5 min, then added precooked bacon on top and once crisp pulled it from the oven and topped it with Jalapeno Jack Cheese. Put in on a French roll with pickles, lettuce, ripe tomato slices, and Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Sides: Coleslaw made prior, and potato chips

Drink Dos Equis Amber Beer.

I made beetroot soup a while back. J was dubious when I told him what I was cooking, because he doesn't share my love for beets (what a weirdo ), but the soup was a hit. It looked pretty and tasted awesome. What more can you ask? Except for a better blender or the patience to strain the soup to make it perfectly smooth, maybe. It was still very, very good.

I have a beef stew in the slow cooker as I type. And I will be making home made bread rolls to go with it in a bit.

This house is gong to smell DIVINE! :D

More street Indian food. Yeah, I'm addicted. :D

Earth Thali

Classic Breakfast Thali

Also forgot to take pics before I started eating. Oops!

I'm jealous you have this available!

I don't use beets, but I'm going to have to try because that looks great! (^_^) This will be an adventure!

Made this tonight for supper. It was very good! The only additions/alterations to the recipe I made were I used roasted garlic and instead of 1 clove I used 5 also I used a low salt chicken broth. It was so good, I'll include what mine looked like because the presentation was awesome! I'll make this again for sure!

 Oxtail soup! I remember when you could buy a package for $5 now it's almost $12 ... a very flavorful soup!! I haven't ever added mushrooms or salad greens...I'll try that next time!!

It was a really yummy food weekend.
Steak frites with sauce choron on saturday and garlic soup with cheese sandwiches on sunday.

Just put Pork Carnitas in the slow cooker.

A dead easy meal apparently. We shall see.

All I know is that all I can smell is Garlic and Oranges!
Come 6pm this evening we will know if it was a win or not.

Oven roasted Burgandy tri tip with a stir fry of chopped asparagus, brussel sprouts, red potato, rosemary, and garlic in olive oil.

Dessert will be sliced strawberries over almond ice cream drizzled in raw clover honey.

Fish pie from scratch.. Including a roux base for the sauce that I have only ever done twice and a puff pastry top.

Roast potatoes, carrots and peas on the side.

I suppose it's too late for supper. Any chance of catching dessert with a very, very fast flight?

Potatoes in a stir fry?
Sit fry to me is a quick cook...
How did you cut them? It were they pre-cooked?

Everyone's food is sounding (and looking :)) magically delicious!!

I just saw this, so I guess you missed tonight ... But don't worry, I can totally whip up a bowl of yum should you happen to stop by sometime. :)

I know right? They were raw red potatoes but cut into fairly small cubes. The cook time was slightly longer than I planned which wilted the asparagus more than I would have preferred, but the fresh rosemary and garlic more than made up for it.

If you have a machine that will julienne root veggies this will speed up the coking time. Or part cook them first.

Slow cooked chicken curry for tea tonight.

Its slow cook because we have no idea when we will be home and we may have to go straight out afterward.

Lancashire hotpot - layers of diced lamb, beef, sliced onion and potatoes, stewed for a couple of hours with bayleaf, rosemary and thyme - served with carrot, swede, and pickled red cabbage. Followed by ginger sponge.
