So the Texas hospital didn't admit him, possibly costing him his life.

I thought this only happened in the VA system?????

Where's the outrage for the way private industry treats people!?!?

Disclaimer: Johnny is exceedingly happy with his VA care.

Yeah, they dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima............

I recently made a serious post about that, on another thread. That's my excuse for thinking what I did when I saw the thread title. And I'm sticking to that.

Unrelated: Two weeks ago I ran out of razor blades so I decided to grow a beard. It still itches and I may break down and buy a razor blade.

Addendum: That would mean leaving the house though. I track my vehicle mileage so I can stick U. Sam for it at 55 cents a mile come tax day. Last quarter I drove 115 miles.

You're at the point the itching should stop, unless you have skin cancer, which is not very likely. I'd wait another few days to see what happens, then either buy some blades or go to the doctor.

Your subconscious deer hunter is trying to get out.

I haven't been deer hunting since I was 16. Getting up at the ass-crack of the morning, schleping out in the snow, immediately having to take a crap and waiting for hours for some hapless deer to happen by? No thanks!

Bambi and his momma thank you

That won't happen until there's delivery for McRib sandwiches.

How do you people remember stuff like this?!

I have everything I need right here at the Savage Estate. When I get the urge to explore, I have a train station a mile away. That one mile puts me within reach of three major airports that will take me anywhere in the world!

As for food... any cuisine in the world can be delivered to my door and I also have a world-class Italian restaurant right down the street that fixes me dinner three or four nights a week. :)

That was the Enola Gay. Named after the town outside Harrisburg, PA.

To be serious for a moment, the bomber was named after the mother of the pilot. One reason I know this is I was fortunate enough to meet the pilot and talk with him about the bombing run. His name was Paul Tibbets, Jr., and his mother's name was Enola Gay Tibbets.
