Yea, guess what? I got sent some forms from the HR at Uni - they have a temp job coming up: maternity leave cover in a couple of months. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it though because I'll still be humping away three times a dayA foot in the door though huh?
Badger update
I still get a lot of that ticking feeling followed by an Ouch - there's almost a pattern to it, so obviously there's still lots of tissue mending going on. The bruising has all nearly gone but the raw scars have calmed down to a dusty angry red, even so they are still quite ugly. They were hidden by the swelling and that meant having to keep them super-clean, so that's one less fiddle to mess with now. If I stretch out on the floor, like a full body stretch, I can feel a tugging inside, but I figure that giving it a stretch is prob a good thing or else I'll get more scar tissue. I'm doing a few Pilates moves, but mostly to stay flexible and I can walk a distance, even if I'm starting to feel really unfit from all this inactivityWe've done peeing. What else? Oh TYI alert : I still dread having to take a poo because it hurts so much, but that's getting better :-\
Ok... I have had horny thoughts but I can't do anything about it because it's too sore to touch - no diddling for me for a while I think.
I just read Lucky by Alice Sebold ( who wrote Lovely Bones ) JFC, it's the most emotional book I've ever read: I mean really shocking and the hits just keep on coming. I may go for something lighter weight next - any recommends? Nothing too horny please for obvious reasonsfemale author preferred, emo. tnx
lots of loves, Sticks x
I nearly missed this - thanks!Eat lots of fibers! Drink more than would be enough. You probably know that already though. But: drink two big glasses of not-cold water before you eat or drink anything else in the morning. It will trigger things in a bout half an hour.
You could maybe tell them you would split your lunchtime break in three?
I think you can do it because you could do before work, then at lunch, and then when you return home and even before bed if you were feeling adventurous
"so wrong and so hilarious" has got my attentionas for a book recommendation - Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald was a nice light read and Let's Pretend This Never Happened is a hilarious book based on Jenny Lawson's blog - The Bloggess. She's just so wrong and so hilarious.
I nearly missed this - thanks!
Or maybe do a stint as soon as I got home - like 5pm and then before bed (plus before work). I don't think I could manage it at lunchtime - too much faff and washing up etc...
"so wrong and so hilarious" has got my attentionI'll check those, thanks!
Oh no - it'll be Mr Darcy by then!! Fuck, that thing is bignot close enough to campus to do lunch at home? and yeah - i'd think you could make it work right after you get home! "sorry, can't talk! gotta go see Mr. Bingley" hahaha!
I laugh with you Sis, WITH you!!
Oh no - it'll be Mr Darcy by then!! Fuck, that thing is big![]()

This is a tech support staff job - nothing too fancy like associateships. From what I can make out it's in the faculty admin so... dunno - prob clerical stuff. I'm not too sure at this stage, because they were just checking availability. The date is December - kind of a bum time of year but hey. I'll keep you postedHey Sis -
So you going to take the job? When would you start? Will you have to be seated all day or will you get to move around?

Still - I was glad they still have me on record and presumably that job will come up. I have to send a form back to register my interest - do that tomorrowoh! they are on top of their game then! I was thinking it was sooner! You may have something entirely different by then.
When do you switch to Mr. Darcy?
I'm not sure exactly how it works in the USA but my understanding I just Googled this which summarises state by state, the requirements for changing birth certs, but I think it's possible to have other documents changed over there... but still the birth cert is the important one. I think your federal? law is countrywide for this, but states vary their rules for other docs.
In the UK, it is fairly straight forward and supported by law. When I was 18, I had to apply to the Gender recognition panel, with evidence that I had lived as my gender for two years along with a medical report and then you get issued with permission to have your full birth certificate re-issued. I didn't actually get mine until I was 20, because I couldn't 'prove' I'd been living full time that long and even though I was effectively sterile by 18 ( through using hormones ). After that, it's a matter of changing other documents to match - if you are older then it means you have already been issued documents ( like driving licence, passport etc ) so that process takes a bit longer. I didn't need SRS to make that change because, like anyone else, what's between my legs is not the government's business.
I was reading that Sweden has only just dropped its insistence on transgender people being sterilised before they would accept their chosen gender change in any official documentation. In effect, it was eugenics - something that has a murky history in Sweden and for which they should be ashamed. It forced trans folk to have SRS before they would be fully recognised by the state. The rest of Europe is still very patchy - France is crap, Czech just went backwards on their laws, Denmark only requires a declaration, others require a medical review & surgery.... it's a nice way to be treated huh?
ETA I think part of the problem is that some countries / states don't allow same-sex marriage so if a married person changes their gender then their marriage becomes illegal. If all such crap, but that's why we have laws...
I bet the badger smiles no matter what the angle of the view.Yes - I got a smiling one

I think the partner in an already-married couple requires the written permission to have their gender considered by the panel ( and so have their birth cert changed ). Some have objected to this on principle, but in practise I think it's a reasonable request given that, say a woman has married a man who then transitions to a trans woman: there are a number of examples where this has been done happily, but personally I think it's pretty unfair on the cis-gender partner, and doesn't say much for their marriage… but then I suppose there's the whole thing about custody of any children… I'm seeing it from a single person's POV.Does the UK still have that rule that married trans people can't change legal status without their spouse's consent?
Can you tell them something like "I'll need some time out during the day for exercises prescribed by my doctor"? I don't know what UK employment law is like, but in .au an employer would normally be required to accommodate that.
A great book to read, although not by a female author, is The 100yr old man who climbed out of the window.
Unless it hurts when you laugh in which case - not such a good idea!
The Scandinavian dry humour I find really funny.
