There have been a few people here indicate they either are interested in this field or want to know how to do a film script or story treatment or screenplay...

If there are people around who 1. want to do scripts and screenplays, or 2. think they might want to 'have a go' at one or part of one - couple of scenes or whatever - how about letting me know that you are around.

Or maybe not just let me know, but use this thread to indicate your possible interest.

I am sure there are producers around looking for the writers.

As most of you will probably already know, film script work is usually about some already-in-existence story or book or real life biography/autobiography.

In terms of my own inquiry this "MIGHT" be about paid work for you.

I'm interested. Writing a screenplay for a 30 minute sitcom was one of my writing goals for this year.

I have two Native American novels that I need a, 'treatment', done on, and suggestions for an agent or an interested film company... script writing is so time consuming, at least to me...

Would be interested in knowing how to construct a script, or treatment.

Oh, hey, guys. I know how to write one, but as amicus points out, they are or can be extremely turgid work propositions, or at very best involve some actual work that writers usually want to be always and ever 'only play.'

Not only that, I have never worked on a film production in which there WAS just one script writer - it's usually always a team affair of some description and there's lots of fights (sometimes).

I was on one where the pool typist/secretary said: "what the fuck is that?! Nobody says that." And the main writer goes 'well, what would YOU say?' And then the thing got written properly.

One of my main goals is to find a way adult fiction writers here can get paid real commercial sums for some work sometimes rather than for no writing work ever other than through the often problematic eReadership world.

I shall pm everyone who responds here.

Thanks.

'D.'

And the other thing is I certainly don't know how to write one any better or even barely even as good probably as the enlightened here or the well-researched amateurs. The only difference might be that um, 'I'm sleeping with the enemy...'

I definitely have an interest in writing screenplays; it's on my writing bucket-list, but keeps getting pushed down the list for being more daunting to break into than other forms of writing. A couple years ago I took a class by a hollywood script-doctor and it really opened my eyes to the craft of structuring genre-based stories (particularly for film, but I've been able to use those approaches a lot in all my writing).
