New Witness to Michael Brown Shooting

Contrary to media stories of Mr. Brown being left uncovered in the street for four hours the crime scene technicians arrived in about thirty minutes, covered Mr. Brown with a sterile blanket (so as not to transfer any evidence into the scene), and then erected a privacy shield around him. They (the crime scene technicians) spent the next four or five hours processing the scene with detectives from Ferguson and North St. Louis. When the initial riot broke out, officers and equipment from multiple jurisdictions responded (that is why if you watch the videos you saw/see the wide variety of uniforms and equipment).

Just sharing for those who like a little information.

Out of curiosity does anyone know how many police involved shootings Ferguson has in a year? (I don't, and I've not seen any mentioned in the media, so I suspect it is a pretty rare event.)

The "left in the road for hours" comments seemed pretty far fetched to me. At least the ones implying he was left there with nothing but barrier tape.

There's not national tracking of police -> civilian shootings, so any stats would be provided by a local jurisdiction, or, at best, the state.

The crime scene investigation was conducted by the North St. Louis PD. CNN had an extensive interview yesterday with one of the brass from their department, talking about both their own shooting and the Ferguson shooting. It was a good interview (now that the furor is settling down a bit and the media doesn't have the easy story of demonstrations, some actual journalism is happening). Being a small department, Ferguson has a para-mutual agreement with N. St. Louis to provide them assistance when needed. N. St. Louis apparently has a much more extensive forensics and crime scene processing unit and has para-mutual agreements with the surrounding suburbs.
