I've been snacking on frozen blueberries. My finger and thumb are perpetually and perhaps permanently purple. :cathappy:

That was the last chance I gave you.

Now the door is shut against you, locked good and tight.

When I have had relationships on here, I quite often see the writing on the wall as to how they will end.

I never saw that with you until March and the writing just gets bigger and bigger.

I dread it and can do nothing to stop it.

What flavour icecream will you be having, Thee? I like Turkish Delight. Or there is a sort of Golden Crunch-y thing that is very delicious. :p

My go-to is hard vanilla with hot fudge, which is what I shall be having tomorrow night (if I make it to class and I'm not held up by meetings like I was tonight).

Last night my wife was updating my family tree with the 21st century events. Several of my generation are already deceased. So far this year I have attended funerals of friends who were much younger than me.

I feel old. But my father died 26 years older than I am now.

We had a torrential downpour this morning.

It coincided with a 10K run past my front door.

The runners presented a wet T-shirt contest (it was a mixed run).

Fortunately, (or unfortunately) most athletic bras stay opaque even when soaked.

There are pros and cons to living where one was born. Were I so inclined, I could attend at least one funeral every week of the year (mainly those of my parent's generation). I dread the onset of my contemporaries' funerals.

I'm not near where I was born. Most of my parents' generation died a long way from where they were born, mainly in places to which their children had moved.

I have to travel considerable distances (by UK standards, not US) to the funerals, and my ability to travel is reducing each year. When my father-in-law died, his younger brother travelled, on his own, from Liverpool to Kent by public transport even though he was in his late 80s.

8 mile hike through the mountains, lots of rocky filled paths and some quite steep slopes. Paying for it now but damn the views yesterday were just spectacular.

Isolated blurt 1:

Yesterday 'the other granddad' (Grandfather of two of my grandchildren) died in hospital after being admitted as a emergency early on Thursday morning. He had been diagnosed with inoperable cancer some time ago and he was unhappy about his reducing quality of life.

Apart from his family who are slowly beginning to come to terms with his death, I will miss him personally. He thought I was too serious, too pompous, and took pleasure in gently ridiculing me for those attributes.

He was right, and I enjoyed his company. Rest in peace and I hope he finds good beer in heaven.

Isolated blurt 2:

My new, non-contest, story posted today and has its first vote - a 2. :(

I don't think it's that bad. Someone obviously does.

Isolated blurt 3:

I have mild tennis elbow in my right arm, so I'm using my mouse with my left. I keep pressing the wrong button.

#3: There is a place under mouse options in windows to swap the buttons.

But there isn't a place for brain transplants. I know that I could swap buttons but that would be counter-intuitive.

It's helping my tennis elbow. What might help more is a couple of days off-line.

That would be a real pain. I could take a break from Literotica, even though I am in the middle of two stories, but my community activities require hours of on-line time each week.

I've just lost (to a tree) a particularly good fishing float.
This new rod is taking some getting used to.

That sounds delicious! Piglet's pal gave her blackcurrants from the family allotment, with instructions to freeze and put in the mixer with yoghurt.

My go-to is hard vanilla with hot fudge.
:p

No ice cream was had due to rain :(
:(

:)D of course you bought new socks to take! rather than put old ones in the wash.)

So sorry, Ogg.
:rose:

I feel quite old too, very often. All the other MILFs  , I mean mums, at the school are about 10 or 20 years younger than me. But I figure I am only as old as the last person who tried to feel me up.
(That makes you 51 )

Thank you, Naoko.

I collect my granddaughter from school most Thursdays. Not only am I the oldest person in the playground, I'm one of the few men, and most of the mothers are younger than my youngest daughter. Some of the grandmothers are 20 or even 30 years younger than me.

Granddaughter's teacher has to check with each child that the responsible adult is in the waiting crowd. The teacher doesn't have to check for me. I'm obvious - the tallest and the only one with a white beard.

Some years ago I was asked to collect my Grand-daughter from a school function and, being the daft softy I am, I said yes. Then I discovered that it wasn't being held at the school.
So I turned up at the building, which was locked. I knocked, politely, and enquired after my Grand-daughter.
I was grilled quite thoroughly by two ladies (teachers?) with several questions including one about which Granddad I was. Eventually, I supplied sufficient information and the child sprinted out and flung herself into my arms at high speed.
Then the teachers {?} smiled.
But I felt like I'd been checked out by MI5 or someone.
