This is sort of embarrassing, but... a few weeks ago I found this rice-type stuff. Zero-calories, all fiber, made of konnyaku, same as the shirataki noodles. Anyhow, it wasn't made or packaged in the states, didn't have English labeling or any clear directions of any kind so I figured you prepared it like rice. So I did that, and it was well, kinda gross but really filling. Tried making it with broth and it was slightly more palatable. Figured it was an acquired taste, so on my "fast" days I've been trying to, um, acquire it. Because it really is filling as fuck.
Anyhow. Come to find out that you're not supposed to eat it by itself - you're supposed to mix it in equal parts with real rice, so it cuts the calories by half.
Doh!
So yeah, I tried that today. It's way better when you eat it how it's meant to be ett! You don't even notice it when it's mixed in with rice. lol
I finally found some shirataki noodles, and....gross. I couldn't get past the smell, even after rinsing the hell out of them.
