Italian Parmesan bread's in the bread machine, going to have spiral noodles with chicken parmesan later on. Toddlers= odd noodle shapes abound.

Italian Parmesan bread sounds yummy. My daughter still likes odd noodle shapes. Her favorite are bowties, but we just had them a few days ago, so it's linguine time.

It came out really good, even mY 18 month old was Nomming away on it. I have fibromyalgia, so I get the monster too and the bread machine helps. Partly because I equate fresh made bread to comfort food and because I know exactly what I'm giving my family. Plus the bread baking smell that fills the house is amazing. Few things kick a simple meal into a full one like fresh breads for me.

If you look on food.com under "Italian bread machine" it's the first one.

I don't think we would survive without white rice in this house. Today I made dakgalbi and bean sprout soup to go with it. :)

Labor inducing cookies.

Figure it can't hurt and I like spice cookies.

I've heard kneading bread can induce labor, if you are a bread baker. :)

If my fibro wouldn't have me in tears, I'd give it a go. I can't make bread by hand anymore, I have to cheat and use the mixer or the bread machine. I may make some tomorrow though, possible Hokaido milk bread.

:( Because of my MS, I totally understand. I love kneading a good elastic yeast bread by hand, but my MS has weakened my dominant hand and it is very difficult. I have an English muffin bread recipe that I love because it goes together quickly and is relatively easy to make. It's a yeast bread, but goes together like a quick bread.

Never tried English muffins, seemed like too many steps for something I've never been super fond of. Now fresh bagels are worth the effort, even if I am seeing stars by the time they're in the oven.

Well I love them!! Post the recipe please!! You can't just talk about this stuff and then never post the recipe...

Here is a link to the recipe I use: http://www.foodiewithfamily.com/2012/02/23/english-muffin-bread/. It is so good and so easy. I usually make 1/2 recipe (for which there are instructions). I like it just toasted with butter (yes, in my toaster, even though she says it *has* to be toasted in a pan), but it also makes an amazing grilled cheese with cheddar.

I baked and filled a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. It'll spend the night in the fridge and get all kinds of yummy and moist, when the sponge soaks up the Kirschwasser. I'll put on the icing tomorrow and cover it with some cherries and chocolate. And then I'll finally be able to dig in.

Because tomorrow is the first day of vacation and that certainly calls for some chocolate-y and boozy cake goodness. :)

Edit: Apparently it's Black Forest cake in English. Live and learn. But whatever the name, the cake is epic.

English Muffin Bread...

... looks totally delicious. Thank you FSS! I am soooooo making this in a few weekends when I have the time.

Mister asked me to prepare lunch for him and his friends for after their game of disc golf. I agreed, and made a refreshing lunch.

While they waited I served edamame and cold drinks.

For lunch cold somen and soba served with tsuyu dipping sauce. For toppings I laid out a plate of shredded egg, shredded ham, green onion, sliced cucumber, slice tomato, and pickled ginger. For sides, grilled corn on the cob, and horenso ohitashi (a spinach dish).

While they watch the World Cup, I set out a bowl of fruit and toothpicks for snacking.

p(^_^)q I've been enjoying some Stella, yum!

That *sounds* yummy. I remember *loving* previous Black Forest cakes. Unfortunately, it seems I'm back on the part of my cycle where things that tasted good ten days to two weeks ago are now tasting bitter and metallic again, meaning that my oral intake of food is going down

This thread made me hungry, but I have nothing exotic coming up on the menu. Later I will have some meatloaf (I do love meatloaf) and some brown rice with saffron. Something sweet for dessert, but haven't made anything yet.

Ideas for something quick and satisfying?

Yogurt mixed with honey topped with granola... nom nom nom.

Your idea is much healthier than mine. I was going to say a parfait with chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and crumbled Oreos. Or vanilla pudding with sliced bananas, and crumbled Nilla Wafers.

I was thinking chocolate pudding, made from bananas and avocado. With cocoa and a splash of vanilla. Shockingly tasty.

And pretty darn healthy to boot! :)

Darn it, SW!

When are you going to get that body of yours back under control? IrisAlthea and I will let you come with us to pillage Seela's Black Forest Cake if you do. ;)
