POST OFFICE #13 - can there be too much mail? too many posts?

Right now we seem to have the following threads:

- Post Office 1 (retired by L), PO 2 (also retired). Now PO3
-six letter Post Office
-seven letter Post Office x2
-Free Association thread 2
-the Sentence game
-To be or not to be
-Word Chain redux
-Misquote the person above you
-The last person to post
Etc., etc.

You might argue that these threads really aren’t the same, that they have nothing in common. Yeah right!
Check out who posts on these threads and what you find is pretty clear: The same people post on all these threads and they post much the same thing on each. Here are the main culprits:

I mentioned yesterday that Tio makes over 18 posts per day, every day of the frigging year, year after year. Which to me seemed pretty incredible. But now I find there’s a whole gang of them! Handley makes 13 per day! Which is bad but better than Tio. But what about China Mike? He makes 24 posts per day! And then the Queen of posting - Anymair – 48 posts per day! (she may have the world record!)

Why don’t you all as a group amalgamate all these threads and then make a pact among yourselves - 5 posts maximum per person per day! This would save the site over 100 posts per day (posts which now clog up the system) which translates into a saving of over 35,000 posts per year!

And it would free up time for all of you – you’ll have more time for your family, for writing, for study, for exercise, for SEX!

As an alternative the group might just to decide to take their games offline. Free up the site completely. You all could get together every morning on a Skype conference call and play your games there.

So please, think about it. Think about your health, the health of your fellow LITEROTICANS, think of MANU and LAUREL… and what about GOD!

Well the poster known as Payday should know better. He/She? has been around long enough to know that simply quoting some rules/guidelines/thoughts that ‘Killer Muffin’ wrote for the LITEROTICA forums ten+ years ago is not current site policy. And even those rules have plenty of contradictions.

The fact of the matter is that on a continuing basis the rules are changed/modified/reinterpreted by LAUREL.

“FREE SPEECH” is the guiding principle? Except of course if it is speech they don’t like. Perhaps you’ve forgotten the battles to get any and all mention of politics out of AHland. The QUEEN chopped their heads off without a second glance.

For some reason PayDay you didn’t highlight Rule #11 – the one suggesting that there is appropriate content for the various forums. Which I believe was the point the lovely (at least according to the boss) subdued passion was trying to make.​

The reason they post here is because they are authors hanging out.

The only requirement for AH is the thread title and forum rules.

I also like how the available forum rules no longer apply. Where is your factual basis for that bold claim?

Also, from a phone size tablet device, you can post on a BB thread as fast as a text message.
You can do lots of things AND post on the AH all day, or you can post in between writing a story, as many do with the What are you listening to now or Last person to post threads.

This is not a reach to think that you are jealous of board friendships people make via AH game threads.

I could understand advocating a games forum, but it probably wouldn't work, as the RP board posters are not GB board posters are not AH posters.
