You should
Served with wild rice
Very luscious meal
Can set the stage for later things

My husband isn't a fan of wild rice, but I do have a recipe for a brown rice pilaf with mushrooms, peas, and carrots that might be nice with it. And maybe some roasted asparagus on the side. I love asparagus and think it can go with just about anything.

Ok we have a meal going here. What veggies and wine do you suggest?

I know this questions wasn't directed at me, but I can eat roasted asparagus with about anything. Or, just an array of whatever roasted veggies you enjoy. We like asparagus, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions.

As far as wine, with poultry I like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling, but I am by no means a wine connoisseur. I thought this chart was interesting: http://winefolly.com/review/different-types-of-wine/.

Well...
Since it summer time and there are lots of fresh vegetables...maybe some squash or zucchini or eggplant grilled along side the birds.

I prefer a big Cabernet...but something pink and chilled could work as well

Matjes (soused herring), sour cream, chives and boiled potatoes we just dug up in the garden.
Later we are going to have strawberries.

Mister brought home raspberries (his coworkers gave them to him along with other fruits and veggies) Thursday night. I needed to use them before they went to waste, so I made raspberry scones this morning. They came out quite good. ^_^

Grilled flank steak marinated with garlic, lemon, thyme and tabasco, roasted potaoe and garlic sauce.

baked pike-perch fillet in tin foil
risotto with green asparagus

My standard recipe for fish fillet in tin foil:

Oil
Salt
White Pepper
Worcester sauce (2-3 splashes) or lemon or white wine
Tarragon

with tarragon the important part. That's it.

Trader Joe's Uttapam in a box.

Are they great? Fuck no. But they could be so so so much worse.

Spinach and apples this whole week. I have no appetite for anything else.
I wonder if my body is trying to tell me something.

I made some brownies from scratch today (er... yesterday).

It's an old recipe from one of my mom's old cookbooks.
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

preheat to 350, lightly grease an 8x8 pan

Melt chocolate and butter over hot (not boiling) water. let cool
Sift flour, baking soda, salt, set aside.
In large bowl, beat eggs and sugar together until light.
Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Stir in flour mixture and nuts.
Spread evenly in pan, place on center rack.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Serve with cold glass of milk ;)

These make a moist, slightly fudgy sort of brownie, but not very sweet.

Salmon burgers with homemade chili garlic mayonnaise and toast.
The burgers made with ginger, lime, salt pepper and leek.
Chilean white wine to go with the food.

Damn, y'all are making some droolworthy edibles.

I am grilling a mammoth angus beef London broil, which will accompany fresh corn and a cucumber/onion salad.

My MonSter (multiple sclerosis) has been royally kicking my ass lately, so tonight's dinner is pretty lame: linguine with garlic butter and roasted asparagus and mushrooms. It's just my seven-year-old daughter and me, so I could get away with no meat. One son is at camp and the other is with my husband at a World Cup BBQ.
