Mr. Speaker! We Need To Get Back To Benghazi

You should read more. NY Times, Time magazine, AP wire services. We have known where to find him for two years.

who was openly living in Libya after the attacks, and in fact gave interviews several interviews with TIME magazine in 2012, but with AP in October 2013:

Argue that we were not wanting to piss off the Libyans, but don't argue that his whereabouts were unknown. Obama chose NOW to have this news story on the front page.
Edward Snowden was interviewed by Brian Williams and hosted a TED talk, both from undisclosed locations.

Was he interviewed at an outdoor cafe in plain sight, undisguised, whilst slurping on a strawberry smoothie?

Did Snowden ANNOUNCE in the interview that he was " not hiding" and would be "picking up his sisters kid at school later?'

THAT kind of complex cloak and dagger stuff?

#accurateascription: You THINK the two stories are in some way parallel.
#youarewrong

OK, now you need to return from Fantasyland.

That is not a case of the media finding Khatallah, that is a case of Khatallah finding the media, which is much easier; and of course if they were to go back to the same place afterwards he would no longer be anywhere near it.

Assuming they could even find the same place again, having been brought in blindfolded for the interview.

Yeah...I guess it is only OK to tap journalist phones and hack their computers if they are critical of the administration.

..and dining Al Fesco WAS awfully secretive of him in a purloined letter sorta way.

First you hadn't HEARD of the media contact, now it was the media having lunch and as luck would have it they "happened" to bump into them.

Maybe he hid out in a cardboard box alongside the Uzu Hotel and waited for someone with a reporters notebook in hand to stroll by?

Here is a quote from those right wing wackos at CNN:

Over on CNN, Damon similarly said "it wasn't that difficult" to reach Abu Khattala, adding that he was "not a man who appeared to be concerned for his security."

Fox had "no problem getting ahold of him" probably because fox is known worldwide to harbor terroists.

Maybe the entire point of an article at the right wing huffington post might hold sway with you?

CITE???

I kept hearing that the Benghazi suspect was blaming the video. Around the web and naturally here from the usual suspects.

I got to wondering:

How is that possible if he was snatched up and is on a boat in the middle of the ocean being interrogated?

I assumed this was the administration floating it.

So I read a couple of dozen articles...

It all goes back to Kirkpatrick in the NY Times at the time of the capture quoting HIMSELF.

He was the propagandist that first repeated the video excuse and was WIDELY discredited at the time and since.

He was not in Libya, much less Benghazi. Allegedly, The NY Times had a (still unnamed) reporter there. No byline, no attribution.

His latest version:

As the attack in Benghazi was unfolding a few hours later, Mr. Abu Khattala told fellow Islamist fighters and others that the assault was retaliation for the same insulting video, according to people who heard him.

So his "reporting" is that someone allegedly working for The NY Times talked to some people who overheard this guy talking to other people.

Now that he is doubling down on this obvious tripe, it's being repeated like it has a shred of credibility.

At the time, The NY Times was lambasted for "reporting from Benghazi" when all the other outlets knew they had NO ONE on the ground there.

It is no wonder the Times has NO credibility anymore.

Ann spells it all out:

LOL @ Ann Coulter spelling out anything but B U L L S H I T.....

Even Megyn Kelly can see what a fucked up situation the previous administration left this one.

I suspect that interview caused quite a bit of mental gridlock in Wingnut Nation.

<Wingnut Mindset>
Megyn Kelly GOOD
Dick Cheney GOOD
Megyn Kelly says Dick Cheney WRONG
IT DOES NOT COMPUTE

Like hell she wasn't.

"Well, I just fundamentally disagree, Reagan — uh, Megyn," Cheney replied. "You've got to go back and look at the track record. We inherited a situation where there was no doubt in anybody's mind about the extent of Saddam's involvement in weapons of mass destruction. We had a situation where, after 9/11, we were concerned about a follow-up attack. It would involve not just airline tickets and box cutters as the weapons, but rather something far deadlier, perhaps even a nuclear weapon."

It would've been "irresponsible for us not to act," Cheney said.

Now, we all know those are lies.
