It's still sick even if it is a parody site. The worst part is, this is a lot like other sites and forums that are not parody sites. I've found countless places were people have similar comments and they're not joking.

The fact that this is even a joke is scary.:(

I don't think the intent is to joke. Satire has always been a way to express social criticism.

I can understand satire and the intent. What angers me is this is based on something that actually happens. :(

My heart is heavy...

I pay a damn fortune for car insurance because I have a big car and I use it for business.

A couple of days a year, I do a long haul drive to the other end of the country and back in one day, so I share the driving with a member of my staff who attends the same meeting. So I contact the insurance company to add him on as a temporary named driver and pay the extra premium.

I've got one of these drives tomorrow but my insurers have just informed me that they're no longer prepared to cover the additional driver 'because it's business use, not pleasure'. Even though they were quite happy to do it four weeks ago.

Thus, I now have the wonderful prospect of a looooong drive tomorrow which will tire me out, in the last training week before my charity run, and my employee will have a face that's tripping him because he won't get to do any driving. Marvellous...

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like the insurance company is saying that the added expenses you pay per year because you use your car is used for business, allows you to have unlisted drivers driving your car and yet still be covered by your insurance.

Did they specifically say "they're no longer prepared to cover the additional driver" in those words or did you intuit that's what they meant?

Either that or they are trying to politely say the person you drive with specifically is a greater risk than they are prepared to cover.

At this point in the conversation, my response would have been: "Oh, okay. Can you give me the number for Insurer B?"

Unfortunately for me, I paid all my basic annual premium up front in January. So if I move at this point, I'll pay a penalty.

However, I did advise them that I will not be renewing next year :)

For the first time in the whole 7,5 years the cat's been alive, today was the day she decided to climb up the bedroom curtains. Which resulted to the curtain wire to come off the wall, screws and all. The wall finishing actually broke when the screws came loose, so now there's a hole there, and the screws dragged horrible lines on the wall when the whole thing came down.

We have no drill substantial enough to drill to stone wall, so I can't put the curtain wire up again.

To top it off, there are no blinds in the bedroom window, which is why I had put there the heavy curtains and why the curtain wire couldn't hold any extra cat weight. And the sun almost never sets and it's light all fucking night long (which I normally like, but now...), so goodbye sleepy time.

The curtains are so heavy that ductape doesn't hold them up. I only had enough tinfoil to cover half of the window and all the trash bags I have are either yellow or white, so they are no use at all. I'mma have to paint the window black with nailpolish or something.

Stupid cat.

Summer daylight.
Even after 10 years I cant get used to it.
Night should fall around 8 pm for my lizard brain, anything else makes me disoriented and some days like today are particularly bad.

Oh no :(
I have solved the stripped screw hole problem before by shoving wet paper into the hole, seriously stuffing it in there when it is wet, and stuffing more and more, especially when you think you can't stuff anymore more in, keep going! Then letting it dry and using the screws again. I don't recall how heavy the item was that I was hanging, and this would be a temporary fix, but might get you through a couple of nights. As long as you keep the cat out of the bedroom :cattail:

Somehow we managed to sleep despite the light. I was still reading without switching the light on at around 10:30pm, so it really wasn't too dark in there. :) It was a cloudy night and morning, so that helped. The sun rises around 4am, but I managed to sleep all the way to 6 before waking up, so that's good.

The problem is that the screws actually pulled out a chunk of wall, so there's only one screw hole left instead of three. We'll get a proper drill tomorrow, so it's only one more sleep before I can put the curtains up again.

UPDATE - I decided to try again, using logic, reason, some slight aggression and a big fat sulk. Long story short, they've agreed to renew the cover :D

Chrome disabling addons and not allowing them any longer just because they are not hosted on their web store.

I really can't express how pissed off I am right now.

Hosni Mubarak's wife emailed me. Wants to split the loot.
I couldn't find my bank account #, and now i'm afraid i'll miss out.
