The creaky wooden door barely hangs on its hinges, but the sounds from within the old tavern are spirited and raucous. Once inside you'll find plenty of tables and chairs, a few comfy old couches, and a friendly staff. Cravon invites you in to recruit writing partners, tell your stories, offer ideas, or simply to share in the warmth of good company. Upon the battered board in the back you will occasionally find Cravon's story ideas and recruitment posters for his threads. He and his staff bid you welcome one and all....

Nice thread. And nice thread history (from what I saw, and meaning it's positive and thoughtful). Looks like you can write. I've thought about doing a RP thread, but then I think there's no way in hell I'm putting myself out there like that. But I can see where it would be helpful with learning to or getting better with writing. And it looks like you have a good RP partner, that ya'll write well together.

:rose:

PS I hope I don't murder your thread...

Good choice for a setting. I miss true taverns. I love the big wooden tables, dim lighting. Hopefully, there's no smoking. :) I'd love a lager and a booth! Hopefully, there is some gourmet bar food, too! Or at least some onion rings! :)

I'll pop in now and then to hear your ideas for stories.

I hope you're enjoying your stories. I'm having fun here, too.

You can start privately if you have a patient partner. I'm in 2 private threads and they're wonderful and fun. You won't have 100% success, most likely, but don't let any bad experiences deter you. You usually end up learning and honing in on what you like/dislike/ what works best with setting up a story. Each writer offers something different and fulfilling . . . at least that's been the case for me. I also tend to write more freely privately. .. .but, perhaps I'll lose my self-consciousness soon.

Thanks, Sidney. Appreciate the info!

Welcome and thank you both for stopping by...

*pours a lager into a large mug for Sidney and puts in an order for hand-dipped onion rings*

Around here, your wish is out command. I look forward to seeing you around whenever you decide to pop in.

LadyVer... Thank you for the kind words. So far I've had a great experience here. Everyone has been kind and helpful with everything. DeliciousMaiden is a wonderful writer and his been gracious enough to help me get going with my first role-play. As far as the thread... I figured it couldn't hurt. I'm ready to write some stories with people and this seems like the easiest way to (hopefully) make some new friends and get started. Please feel free to hang out with me here anytime and if you want to write something with me, please just let me know.

Slips in quietly to wish him well.

" I shall not stay, but wanted to wish you well with your new venture Cravon. I am happy to see that this Tavern allows entry to ladies...back in the day many did not."

I smile softly blushing as I place a small kiss on his cheek before heading back to my own areas of Lit. :rose:

*smiles and hugs Yeishia, kissing her gently on the cheek*

Thank you, Yeishia. You are the sweetest. Please feel free to stop by as often as you'd like.

Hey cravon... nice place! *taking a seat at the bar* Anything new and interesting on tap?

Hey cravon... nice place! *taking a seat at the bar* Anything new and interesting on tap?

Hiya, HF. Glad you stopped by! In this place, we can pretty much get you whatever you want. But the special today is our home-brewed lager, if you'd like a pint.

*pins a note on the board at the back of the room. Should anyone take the time to read it, they will see this:*

The Sword and the Sorceress...

Swordsmen and mages don't usually mix well what with their different philosophies on life... and death. But when the fate of thousands of innocent villagers is at stake, exceptions can and must be made.

He is a fighter, through and through, his skill with a sword honed and deadly. He stands ready to die honorably in the battle against evil...

She is a sorceress, her magic unrivaled in eastern world. She has little tolerance for chivalry and certainly has no intention of dying in battle. But for her own motives, she will fight.

Two people ready to stand against the horde... They do not trust each other... They do not like each other... But together, they constitute the East's only defense.

He wanders into the Tavern, humming to himself as he prepares and lights a fire in the hearth. He then heads over to the bar and starts putting things in order. His eyes wander toward the bulletin board, hoping for a response to his idea but finds that it is still empty. Ah well, perhaps sometime in the future. He'll be coming up with more ideas as time passes, of course.

Hey cravon... thanks for the brew... the RW got very hectic for me, but it was good to stop in and hoist a pint.

Hello, hello to all.

<Sidles up on a bar stool near Cravon, who is behind the bar.>

Leaning forward, I whisper, "Cravon, this is a new tavern, people are just getting used to the fare. Would you like me to tweet about it? I don't think people know how good the food is and that there are stories to be started here. . . Be patient, your perfect Sorceress will find you. It hasn't even been 24 hours. . . "

<Good-natured laughter at our own impatience>

He greets Sidney with a wide smile and a wave.

"Hiya Sidney. Welcome back. Get you anything?"

He leans forward enough to hear the soft whisper.

"That would be wonderful. Anything that brings new customers would be great. Thank you. And I'm pretty patient usually, but I guess I could be described as eager..."

He joins in her good-natured laughter...

It's chilly day outside of the tavern. Inside, however, a fire burns in the hearth and mugs of warming ale and hot chocolate keep the occupants warm. Cravon sits behind the bar, happily serving the customers whatever they request. His easy smile and friendly banter create an atmosphere of joviality and fun for all present.

Aww, I missed the fire. Hmm. . ..I only see embers and the tavern is empty.

Is it okay if I sneak in and make myself a strong coffee? I hope so. . . . I'll make a pot in case you have some early customers. I'll leave some corn and blueberry muffins, too.

In exchange for my thievery, I'll leave you some nice sunflowers. And you can just add that coffee to my tab. ;)

My stomach is still full from Mexican food and margaritas last night.

Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening to all.
