To feed the trolls, I posted a story in the LW category. It is about a white man and woman picking up two big black men in a hotel and they both do her while the white husband watches. After one of them comes into her, he scarfs up the cream pie. This is just the kind of slut wife/wimp husband story the trolls love to bomb and trash.

I got a feedback from somebody named oshi or something like that and he said how Laurel is going to split the category into stories like this one and something else. Does anybody know anything about that?

There's a thread in story feedback ( need for a cuckold category, or something like that ) where Laurel has laid down the law that cuckold/sharing stories were one of the things that were always meant to be in the category. More or less telling all the people saying that those stories don't belong there and 1-bombing to take a hike.

She also said that stories where the cheating of the wife isn't meant to be erotic don't belong there. That frequently includes Burn the Bitch stories, and consequences stories. Of late, she's been changing the category on some of those to other categories, and some have been rejected after-the-fact for being overly violent.

There's been no mention from her of splitting the category. That's been suggested by others ( for years, actually )

The message you received is part of an effort by some authors/readers in the category to mitigate the nastiness of the category. Laurel said that if the camps could coexist peacefully without vitriolic comments saying this or that type of story "doesn't belong" and backing it up with 1-bombs, she wouldn't have a problem with leaving the consequences/BTB stories ( that don't go over the violence line ) in the category.

The effort only started yesterday, so they don't really have the message they're trying to send nailed down perfectly yet.

They're attempting to encourage some of the people commenting who may believe they're "white knights" defending the authors to chill out, because they're actually harming the authors they're trying to help with the venom.

Won't do much for the pure assholes, but if enough people are worried about their favorite authors getting shunted off into this category or that, or rejected because the story simply won't fit in any other category, it might help.

Well, the story I wrote is not cuckold because the husband is right there but it is sharing or swinging so I guess it's in the right place. This was a new category for me and I wrote a pretty raunchy story.

The story I mentioned seems to have become another forum, with people arguing about the virtues of the LW category rather than commenting on the story. Is this kind of thing happening to anybody else?

It's pretty much happening to any new LW story.

Those who were trying will give up soon, because there's no talking sense to the part of the LW readership who are the problem.

As I've mentioned before, it's hard to see the problem. Any writer can turn off comments or moderate them, and as far the 1-bombing goes... well, that's Loving Wives.

I'm surprised that Laurel is even bothering...

Perhaps because the basic problems are in how she set up and defined the category.

Sometimes you start something and it takes on a life of its own - that's especially true on the internetz - but it still doesn't mean that it's a bad thing. Nobody gets physically injured by a little name calling, and the trolls are entertained. I mean, they're readers too, right? Like those two old hecklers on the Muppet Show...

Well, yes, the carping that goes on in Loving Wives doesn't bother me all that much. But it's there primarily because the category was set up confused and is confusing. The question was why Laurel is bothering with it--my response was that she should bother with it because she set up the problem and it not only has been the basis for forum complaints for years but the carping about it is expanding on the forum.

Maybe I'm too relaxed about it. I've just never really viewed "virtual fighting" as fighting. To me they're more like extra colorful discussions. And if they get out of hand, they forum has an ignore list.

I do see, though, the level of intelligence displayed in the fighting as sort of an index to who reads this category (and for what and with what intensity). Brings out the "get a life" feeling.

What's particularly fun is that I've been working on a story for the coming Nude Day contest, realized somewhere along the route that it fits in the Loving Wives category, and now I'm looking at it in terms where it fits in the divide of the "great war" going on over what fits there and what doesn't. But I was still just writing the story I wanted and not worrying about who it was written to or the rating and comments it would elicit before it was finished. I laughed, though, when, after it was done, I saw "burn the bitch" elements in it--without having striven for that at all. It will be fun to see how it plays when posted.

:D True that.

Of course the competitions are the one area where the trolls can hurt a writer because scores matter. You could potentially write the most brilliant story of your life and still lose out on both the glory and $$$ because you fail to punish the black guy your wife cheats with.

Laurel does seem to make an extra effort in filtering out the bombers though, and the participants are typically experienced writers who are aware of the dangers of LW and can choose a more friendly category.

I entered a previous contest with a Loving Wives one and, for some time it was my highest-scoring story and probably still is the one with the most comments (most of which are favorable). I don't enter the contests for ratings anyway. Contest appearances boost my "favorites" stats.

I don't think laurel set herself up for this. The popular stories there a few years are not what the category is full of now. It seems as if over time it has become redefined and has become infested. With a diseased faction of trolls.

It is what it is and I don't see the fuss. It seems laurel does and its a shame because there is a lot

Of other areas here that could use her attention that would be more beneficial to the site.

Puleeze spell it out for me, the two camps, I mean. Por favor :)

There aren't two troll factions, there is one.

The people who yell and scream about the wimpy cuck and how "real men" wouldn't put up with it are also the burn the bitch crowd because they want nastiness to befall the woman for mistreating the poor cuck.

Which is where they contradict themselves because even though according to them the cuck is loathsome he should still be "avenged" so end of the day its a bunch of little men yelling and clamoring for the abuse and punishment of women who for some reason come to LW rather than going to the non con section where they would probably be happy.

Why would it? You haven't written one there in close to 3 years and a total of 6 in your seven years here. You've also stated you rarely read any lit stories many times

So you don't read LW you haven't posted there is going on three years, but just keep yammering away on the topic as if you're relevant to it somehow and everyone should listen to you.

So for the rest of the people here tired of your "carping" I thought I would point out your "expertise" in the field that, like everything else, we're supposed to think you know so much about.

It really comes down to you needing to post just to post, now doesn't it?

What's your next trick? Telling alwayswantedto how to write mother/son stories or Telling silkstockinglover how to write lesbian stories?

OK, appreciate the news. IRL I find that many men are OK sharing the wife, its like borrowing a beer or the man's pickup. He's prolly fucking her mom or sister. Women are the same way.

Why?

Charming. Sounds like a highly erotic story.

Just out of curiosity, what is your motivation in getting them all lathered up?

I am probably wrong,

but hasn't the tag been changed for LW category? Didn't it used to include the tag "cheating" along with "swinging" and "sharing"?
What category is now the appropriate one for "cheating spouse" and the consequences when the "offended spouse" doesn't accept infidelity and wants out of marriage?

Yes the tag was recently changed. Even Laurel seems to be confused about what should be there.

Not that what you quote from me has anything to do with your post, but . . .

You've only written two stories to LW ever in all the years you've been here and it hasn't stopped you from running at the mouth and assuming you own the category, so I don't really see what your point is (other than being obsessed with me).

And you were just upbraided over on the Feedback board for your incessant carping about nonconsent, so I see nothing but two-faced posting from you on that either.
