I'll take you off ignore just long enough to address this one post. I tried to see what you were made of with a few posts in the past. I don't know why you are here. You're not funny, you're not sexy and you're not interesting. Knowing that, I would probably leave you beside the road, for the world would be a better place without you. It's harsh but sometimes people need to hear the truth. Maybe you have another side you show to others. I don't really care.
I will probably survive this and I'm sure you don't really care either. We are all just trying to survive and that's what we do until we get hit with that 'one' that takes us out.
I'm showing my ass. Could you do the same?
And if you truly believe in karma, which I don't, you should be pretty concerned.
4.1 cm stage 1 clear cell tumor on my left kidney. No spreading evident. I chose to have it blasted by radio frequency ablation, if I am eligible. I guess that means they stick a small speaker in it and play really loud Beastie Boys or something.
Ms...if it has not metastasized any further, and depending on how quickly it grew in the first place would would be two key factors on if the abrasion or removal is the best option. If they remove, they can probably do a partial-nephrectomy, in which case you are ensured it is all gone and no further treatment would be necessary. Very often they can even do it laparoscopically so it is less scarring, pain and recovery time.
You are correct that they recheck, usually it's 6 months if there was no spreading. It's usually an X-ray or CATscan. It's pretty straightforward, but you'll always have to stay away from things like ibuprofen.
I hope this gave you a little piece of mind.....good luck to you...
I can't take Ibuprofen anyway. Ablation sounds like the least invasive procedure and if they screw up they can go back in with the da Vinci or the gut me method. What scares me most is it's sitting close to where the blood vessels and ureter are attached, and they do it blind. Should happen next Wednesday, four weeks from discovery. I finally got to see all the CT scans. It's all very surreal.
I see '' too '' and wonder what else is going on beside cancer.
Do they have counselors you can talk to? I know it's overwhelming and sometimes you just need to talk to someone who isn't family.
Ann
I hope you have someone close to see you through all this.
That's what I have you guys for. Scary, huh?
Just don't lose your wit and snark.
That's what I have you guys for. Scary, huh?
Well, I fought three times and survived so there you go, survivors are still complete bitches too.
I finally got to see all the CT scans. It's all very surreal.
When I got my second heart stent, they asked me if I wanted to watch the procedure on the screen.
Uh, no. In fact, fuck no. In fact, no goddamn motherfucking way! I'd rather watch seagulls shit.
I'm finding out there are others here in similar situations. I don't know if it helps. Suffering should only come with a safe word.
Compared to the tumors I had, yours is a little baby. You should be just fine.
You should start a thread about it.
Then again you could die on the table.
Ishmael posted he has cancer. Date-wise, it was almost the same day as me. That's the "too".
Oh, I see.
Well, both of you then kick ass and take no prisoners.
