Does anyone dare to edit this?

One of my rejected stories, LIKE A HOLE IN THE HEAD, is about a sexual fetish for brain damage. No violence is inflicted. Nobody dies. Nobody is coerced or forced -- no non-con. No BDSM rituals, no dom-sub relations. Everybody cums repeatedly. Self-inflicted trephination aka trepanning is mentioned and anticipated but not performed nor detailed. Laurel's rejection note, which condemns activities that are NOT in the story, ends: "Trepanning is considered physical harm." Of course, trepanning has been a surgical procedure for millennia.

Would anyone be willing to edit a challenging but non-violent story that was rejected for violence? (The text can be read here.)

I'd be delighted, if you'd tell me what you want in an editor: just checking for spelling/typos/inconsistencies, or do you want wider advice?

Liked the story, by the way. It reminded me of the brilliant ending to Pi: have you seen it?

I haven't seen the film, and probably won't - my eyes and ears and attention span can't really handle such entertainment anymore. I have the book, and haven't yet read it. It's in the queue.

What editing do I want? I probably have the orthography down, although inconsistencies may have slipped past me. More, I'd like Laurel to approve it, and I apparently need help there.

I'm glad you liked the story. If approved, it likely won't be a big vote-grabber, but that's obviously not the point. I have a couple of nice, pandering stories in the pipeline that should be fairly popular. Tougher tales are more fun to write and the nasty comments can be very entertaining.

EDIT: I just reminded myself that the last film I saw in a theatre and really enjoyed was the hyperkinetic time-twisting RUN LOLA RUN. That probably dates me, hey?

I was a little sloppy there. What I should have said was, I'd like Laurel to approve it, and I apparently need help in tweaking or reshaping the story so she DOES approve it.

Your solution may be as simple as refilling with a note in the notes box that it had been rejected for trepanning but there wasn't actually any trepanning performed in the story. The only stories I ever had rejected was for supposition of what wasn't there and I had to do was point out that it wasn't there for the story to go through as originally written. Laurel only has time to scan the stories,

That was my backup plan. ;) But editorial suggest are welcome too.

update

I resubmitted LIKE A HOLE IN THE HEAD with a note to Laurel, as suggested. It is still pending. Alas, my other current submission, THE BIG BANANA, was just rejected:

* Was there an underage (under 18 years old) sexual relationship in my story?

Please feel free to re-submit the story after a Volunteer Editor has examined it, or after you've made revisions.

Well, when they were underage humans, there was no sexual relationship. That came after they became adult banana slugs. Now I need a volunteer editor to set me right. Help!
