Do Lit chat rooms actually exist?

I just wondered if the chat rooms exist as I am unable to ever get past the 'Initialising' logo?

They exist, but their availability and reliability are certainly suspect. There's a thread here that gives some more details. I was last in about two (three?) weeks ago, have tried periodically since without success since.

Lit Chat is Real

We are aware of the issues with chat. The chat does work, but does not seem to be able to handle more than around 500-750 people in at any given time. Apparently, the number of people who wish to use our chat far exceeds that number.

We've been working with the chat providers, but have not as of yet solved the problem. We've looked around at other chat solutions, but any that would reliably accommodate the traffic ours receives are prohibitively expensive (thousands of dollars per month). We simply cannot afford to pay that much to offer a free chat room.

Rest assured that we are working with our tech people to try to find a solution. We appreciate your patience.

Ah, finally! I've been visiting Literotica for quite a while now, but have only been able to get into the chat once or twice. I always thought there was something wrong on my end (browser, etc.). I didn't realize until reading this thread that there's a technical reason I couldn't get in. I look forward to a solution.

I don't get it.

They could just get a room on an established IRC network and use lightIRC to connect to it.
