Perhaps as they say, those who feel it necessary to measure their own life against others and find a way to make themselves feel superior by doing so, are actually the ones who need the most help.:cattail:

Never heard of this saying.

Is there a saying about people who have nothing better for comfort than an online porn forum?

Either way, as long as you are happy in yours, that is all that matters.

Amen.

Yes, and it's always a forum troll who says it

Doesn't fit.

If you are sorrow that a relative died, but you are happy about the bequest, then it's not schadenfreude.

LOL, showing your age? We are living in the tech age after all and I have met some very real and lovely people (in RL) from this forum...why stop now? Oh, and btw, I also have people here who are there for me. Ain't I lucky to have so many from all over the globe to talk to....you should try it sometime.:cattail:

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that Cat's sorrow is of benefit to you, somehow?

You're not just being smug about someone else's misfortune?

They happen to be here and you happen to be here. That's a huge difference. You wouldn't believe that a facebook like can cure cancer either, would you? How many would be left if they had to endure you in real life...not just for a weekend...and not just when everything is glitter and cream, but when life lashes out to not only hurt you but all those around you? How many will be there when they have to make a real sacrifice instead of typing some silly words on the keyboard? How many, dear Catalina?

Thanks. Good thing is we always promote communication, communication, communication in this forum always, and that is exactly where we are at the moment. Things are still raw, but we both are taking responsibility for our faults (and slipping in communication at times) and trying to be kind to each other to move forward and correct the problems we are going through. Will take time and patience on both sides, but we are both equally determined to learn from this and be stronger together and as individuals. Keep your fingers crossed for us please.:cattail:

To be brutally honest here, what I get from your post is a drive to fix this as soon as possible. I totally get it but I think you're giving your feelings the short end of the stick. If you've just now you've discovered that you've been lied to by someone you've been happy with for 12 years, that's kind of a big deal. Don't gloss over it, because that means you're squelching your pain and feelings rather than dealing with them.

LOL, you'd be surprised.:D

One of my friends set up a gofundme site to raise money towards his vet bills because his dog has cancer and he has no insurance. All sorts of people he knows only via Facebook have contributed, as well as RL mates like me. So yes, it can be surprising, can't it?

Yep, we live in a new age where technology is more the norm for many than face to face interactions. It is especially useful for people who are limited in mobility, stay at home parents, cash strapped etc., and there are many people out there sitting behind their computers who are more than willing to help another, even a stranger. I know of someone who suicided and left behind a child who now has a large trust fund for education etc., donated to by friends and strangers alike, online. Restores faith in humanity.

Fucking Google Chrome, which Id been using for browsing to keep my firefox for webdev, because some of the plugins don't play nice. about a month ago, I started getting the dreaded Kernel Panic crashes. I updated everything I have, deleted a bunch of software I dont use, got rid of a tone of empty binary files... followed all the directions. And yesterday, I crashed four times, this morning twice more. Googled "Kernal panic chrome" and damn.

So Mozilla is my browser again. And I have to reset a bunch of passwords, not that's a bad idea, and I had to tell Lit forums I wanted it to be soft blue not that white with the orange trim.

Allergies (T_T)

The weather is beautiful, though.
The Santa Ana winds always murder my sinuses.
