Massive Multi-writer long term project story idea

Hello, so I am currently trying to put a team together for a huge casual writers project.

It's simple, A world is established between the writers. I was thinking a medieval world with limited magic, however if anyone else has suggestions I will gladly hear them.

The idea is that once a world is made each author makes a character and about once a month, maybe even less often, releases their new chapter online. This way there should be a fairly regular stream of new content and story continuation while many are not actively writing the project as well as creating a mixed story.

Characters are allowed to be male or female, but should be old enough to engage in sexual activity. If you want to have characters run into each other, make love with each other or even just kill each other that's fine as long as both writers agree to it.

You might want to check out the Chain Stories category to see how series like this are done. In my experience on Lit, proposing a more concrete idea, such as a definite background, time frame, setting, etc., yields more interest than something vague.

There was a series of books out years ago, they were called the Thieves World. What they did was the publishing house and the main author for said house got together and set up this town where all the stories were set.

There was a tavern called the "Vulgar Unicorn", there was a thieves guild, and there was a soldier garrison, a apothecary, and so on.

They then invited writers, (soem pretty big names at that ) to come there and set a story in that town. The only rule was that you couldn't kill off another writer characters without their permission.

You could use their characters to tell your story, even use them badly, but you couldn't kill them off.

I liked the different take on the same characters and the way that different writers would use them.

I would be I forested in this and I have 3 Characters in mind. A Knight Templar (yes I do have a non sexual fetish for them) His lady and their friend who happens to be a dragon. They own a Tavern/dance hall called The Dragons Keep.
