Our Paragraphs

Only 3-4 Subway sandwiches were harmed in the documenting of this project...

Today I am celebrating the one year anniversary of recapturing my body. One year ago today a close friend shared with me her secret for losing 62lbs in 18months and I decided to look into it and try for myself.

At her recommendation I watched the documentary "Forks over Knives" and read "The China Study." This information along with her visible results convinced me to try a Vegan diet. The immediate benefits were amazing - 14lbs lost in the first 10 days. I decided to continue and am proud to announce that one year later I have completely adopted the diet.

I couldn't be happier with the results! I've lost 36.5lbs, 7inches off my waist, lowered my cholesterol by more than 140pts, and dropped my A1C levels from diabetic range to well within healthy limits. My energy levels have exploded and feel so much "cleaner" - all the time! And at the risk of TMI..."my shit don't stink!" Literally! LOL!!

I owe so much gratitude to my friend for sharing this information with me and offer the following pictorial evidence to show you my progress over this past 365-days. Sorry, but I don't have a good "Before" pic. 2013 was the year I reclaimed my health and am darned proud to have done so!

"the key is you have to HATE yourself enough to WANT to change!"
- White Goodman, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

Congratulations!! Good for you!! I love that quote too, so true! "You have to hate yourself enough to want to change." Mmmm hmmm.

That is an incredible story!! Forks Over Knives is a great lifestyle, and The China Study is eye-opening (and what ultimately made me cut out meat and dairy).

Congrats to your anniversary, and here's to many more!! :)

Thank you Sam! And I haven't missed any of it!! My pallet now craves the fresh crisp tastes that veggies provide and doesn't miss the 'junk' at all!

Thanks TalI! To quote White Goodman yet again... 'We should mate. :) ...DATE! I said DATE!' You must have read that wrong!! ;)

Sean, you are so amazing and inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
And I remember that line from Dodgeball. Hilarious!

Thank you eLEXXa! I shared this because I am proud of what I accomplished. One person inspired me a year ago, I just hope I can inspire someone else! :)

Why I like to Swim

I had originally planned something different for this morning, but after I was caught sipping Starbucks in my speedo I was asked to fill a special request...

Swimming is such a good full-body workout. It allows all your muscles and joints to engage and participate.

Long strokes in the water coupled with powerful scissoring motions propel you through the warm liquid with such ease. It's simply a heavenly experience. To feel suspended in time and space, alone with your thoughts, feeling your body respond...It's simply a great way to start the morning!

Luckily, the pool changing room was empty this morning and I was able to take some pictures to share. No fear of being caught this morning...so I may have gotten a bit daring with one or two of the poses...

Why thank you Tali! It's my competition suit for swimming but I'm using it for practice too. :)

Hammocks for bananas?? Well that's just silly! I keep my bananas in a bowl on the kitchen counter.

yum! sexy pics babe! and a very spankable ass ;)

Spank away! I know I enjoy doing it!

A lick....a feel...a sqeeze...a  :)

Well the lick, the feel, and the squeeze are all good to go! But you'll have to get someone else's permission for the

They don't get bruised in a hammock!

My banana doesn't bruise easily. But if you think a hammock would help...I'll pick one up tomorrow.

Does this mean you want a pic of my banana in a hammock now???
