Today approximately 6 million Americans got health insurance via the ACA

Tough. It's called living in a civilised society. You want to try something different, move to Somalia.

Civilized society? If its civilized to take from some to give to others why not continue that thought to taking money and property too. After all, I didn't make it, right? Your thinking would justify that as yet another "civilized" thing to do.

Um, yeah, that's kind of the way it works. You want to transport your goods to market in a timely fashion? Pay for helicopters or contribute to the national roads scheme. You don't want to get cholera? Contribute to a national clean water scheme. This is basic stuff. You don't like it, move to somewhere that doesn't have it.

That's what we're already doing. Money is just a proxy for stuff which is in turn a proxy for energy, human and otherwise. What are you not understanding?

You want to post on the interwebs; make your own electricity or pay your neighbor for the easement the government gave the power company across his property so wires could connect your home.

National clean water scheme? Just where do you live?

Just where does this "basic stuff" end? You and your ilk keep on that agenda. Payback is a bitch.

It honestly doesn't end. It evolves as the times do. You keep planning that comeback though, you won't live to see it.

I live in the Western World. You don't?

Where does it end? It doesn't. Making life better is kind of an ongoing process. Seriously, move to Somalia, you'd like it there.

Thanks but I choose to work hard at making sure that this country does not turn into a Somalia or some other third world banana republic shithole.

By railing against everything that tries to prevent that?

Your healthcare is third world. Really. Any European that's ever lived in the US comes back with a contemptuous attitude to your health care system.

i have great healthcare.

mostly.

of course, it's through a group policy.

it amazes me that access to healthcare here is so dependent upon your employer.

not even upon whether you have a job.

upon the entity with which you have a job.

Which is just fucking bizarre. Nixon's legacy isn't Watergate, it's your fucked healthcare system.

Ahhh, you are European. But that explains everything.

precedes nixon.

it goes back to wage controls and WW II.

it's a fucked-up set of circumstance though, in an economy where people no longer remain with one employer for a career.

Yep, I get healthcare that is better at half the price.

Better then what...and half the price of what? And how would you know this?

I feel silly now, I am debating with someone who does not live here, thinks we should be more like him and live in his utopia while telling me I should go live somewhere else.
