I'm certainly no role model. Letting your guard down, letting people in, actually believing in love and the goodness of others.... all kind of suck in the end :) You tend to get let down more than proven right. But I am who I am and I as hard as I have tried to change myself in the past - I'm continually unsuccessful.

Today has been kind of a crumby day - trying to figure out how I fit into a very confusing situation that I've gotten myself in to.... so your positiveness is truly welcomed.

I don't know if I mentioned elsewhere in my thread, but I'm also a Steelers fan.... Quite a disappointing weekend :\

Hello gorgeous lady. Nice to see you again. PLEASE do not try to make yourself into someone else's idea of you. The only person you need to be true to is yourself. Don't look at yourself thru the world's eyes as the world is blind to true beauty. What makes a woman beautiful comes from within. I see nothing wrong with who you are.
 
Oh I'm certainly not changing who I am.

If I care about someone, it's usually a lot and unfortunately I'm realizing that it's often a one-sided venture. It can leave you feeling a little depleted at times. I don't want to change myself...just maybe figure why "who I am" isn't as important to others.

Never apologize for being you. If who you are is not important to them then they are not worthy of you. Just saying. .
 
Thank you :) Those who know me know that turning off my feelings isn't that easy. But I certainly get your point, and I pretty much agree.

Then again, I might just expect too much and should modify what I expect from people. Less expectations = Less disappointment.

True. Most people are only out for themselves. What is in it for them and to hell with everyone else. But there are still some good people out there so don't give up.

Never change! Who you are is fantastic and the world would be a darker place without you in it.

...Anyone that doesn't realize your love and doesn't return it isn't worthy of the honor of being given it to begin with.

Yesterday marked 1 year since I joined Lit. It has been quite an enlightening experience to say the least :) I've made several great friends and met one very special person who I hope is part of my life for years to come.

Upside down

My life as of very recently has been turned completely upside down in ways I could never have imagined. This is a time where I've very quickly realized who genuinely cares about me and those who I've always just been "a release" to.
