Another conservative narrative flushed down the toilet of wrongness

While hair on fire might not have been an apt comparison libs weren't heading into 2010 expecting things to go well. We exited 2010 thinking "Thank god for the Tea Party loons." Nothing quite like running people who say they should look to the 2nd amendment if the ballot box fails or someone who has to bother spending campaign time declaring that they are not a witch when you need to not lose an election. That shit could have been ugly.

2014 I haven't heard a whole lot of crowing either but we'll see, it's early yet and none of the races have started .

Denying reality by claiming the figures are cooked is the easy way out.
It's also the coward's way of avoiding reality, something you seem to do rather well, gramps.

But the employment figures were cooked shortly before last year's election, and the Census Bureau even admits it now. And the NSA was spying on Conservatives, and that has now been owned up to. And the IRS was extra diligent in trying to prevent Conservative groups from being classified as non-profit organization. That has now come to light.

When I say I don't trust gov. bodies to by non-partisan, it's because their dishonesty has been proven. Why should I believe what they are saying now, any more than I should believe a proven notorious liar such as Obama?

Can you prove any of those contentions you made in the first paragraph?

This didn't happen. The LEAST credible newspaper in America said it did and they were wrong.

Even if it did happen, there are 7,000 Census workers that take the surveys each month. One or even a few dozen of them faking numbers wouldn't be able to move the unemployment rate .1%, let alone .3%.

Facts don't matter to you though.

Are you saying the NY Post is the least credible newspaper in the country?

Making up juvenile labels such as "teahadist" and assuming facts support only one partisan viewpoint, well, that's silly.

Pick up a history of western philosophy, such as Russell's. There is no "wrong" viewpoint, merely different ones.

I'm sorry....that viewpoint is simply wrong because there are viewpoints that are 100% wrong as it gets.

For example......his viewpoint was WRONG.....

Fuck John Crudele.

He's a hack writer who obsesses about disproving BLS numbers. He always seems to come up with "anonymous sources" in the government....sources nobody else ever hears from...to back up his conspiracy theories. None of these "anonymous sources" have ever come forward "on the record".

As such, we should take anything Crudele writes about BLS figures with more than a grain of salt.

But I will admit he does provide badly needed "confirmation bias" to low-information voters such as yourself.

The problem with this is that people tend to confuse viewpoints with facts.

i think they called it a "Turkish toilet": basically a hole in the ground to squat over.

Yeah, that's exactly the term they used. I thought "Turkish Toilet" was a local euphemism. But you're right, it's basically a squat hole.

I see you, on the other hand, are citing the Huffington Post, which is notorious for their dishonesty. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/19/unemployment-rate-faked_n_4302907.html

In the link I included, there were admissions of guilt and actual persons were quoted. In addition, everybody smelled a rat when the figures changed so drastically, and at just the right time to help The Big O.

One low level employee couldn't do much about falsifying anything, but higher-ups could and did.

ETA: If you don't want to believe me, pick out one of dozens of other sources.

Mocking one's political opponents, especially "know nothings" and other ignorants such as the Birchers or the Tea Party, have long been a part of the uniquely American political tradition, your delicate sensibilities notwithstanding.

Insofar as your belief that there is no such thing as a "wrong" viewpoint, I'll let stand without comment other's photos of Mr. Hitler's and suggest you reconsider your ill-advised outlook. I believe that in a different time and place, you'd have made a "Good German".

Yes I am.

And that story was a flop. And like I said, there are 7,000 Census employees that take surveys. Even if there was a corrupt dude in there, exactly how far do you think one person can move the meter?

Such incidents, it says, occur in fewer than 1% of all cases and would not affect the jobless rate, noting that about 7,000 Census workers in six regions conduct the interviews that contribute to the survey.

Census workers are required to reach 90% of the households they identify and report on their job status, according to the Post column. When Buckmon fell short of that goal, a manager told him to make up responses from imaginary households to close the gap, he told the Post. Although Buckmon told the Post he wasn't instructed to report those survey respondents as being employed, the Post quoted other unnamed individuals as saying that concocting respondents would have increased the total of employed Americans.

I'm doing nothing of the sort, you decrepit granddaughter fucker. You found an article and ascribed it to me, then criticized "my" source. Classic Strawman.

I'd ask for an apology but we both know you're not man enough to do so.

Your confirmation bias idiot refuses to make his source public, and there's no independent confirmation of his outlandish charge. That means we're supposed to take his editorial on faith alone, and I won't do that.

Since it meets your confirmation bias, you support it heart and soul.

Funny how this story failed to get more traction even in wingnut-land. Even AJ's looney tunes usual sources failed to push it much. Guess they realized they had a stinker on their hands.

Better luck next smear, old man.

All I'm saying is that you derived your "information" from the Huffington Post, although you may have felt too embarrassed to admit it. If not from them, then from whence?

Well, duh, they're denying any wrong-doing. What else would you expect - a gov. agency to own up to being dishonest?

Even at that, they do admit that sometimes the "information" they distribute is fabricated.

that concocting respondents would have increased the total of employed Americans.

Buckmon worked at Census from December 2002 to August 2011, the agency says. Survey takers, it says, have been caught fabricating responses from time to time. They are swiftly disciplined, Census says, and the incidents are routinely referred to the inspector general of the Commerce Department, which houses Census.

Such incidents, it says, occur in fewer than 1% of all cases and would not affect the jobless rate, noting that about 7,000 Census workers in six regions conduct the interviews that contribute to the survey.

In a statement, the Commerce Department's Office of Inspector General said: "We are aware of the media reports and our office is evaluating what action may be warranted."
