Thought I'd try and start a thread about some of the more creative-sounding words that you might particularly enjoy.

I'll start with a couple of mine: Cattywompus and Hodgepodge. I think these are adorable.

Note: if this has already been done, sorry... Didn't feel like digging back through a bunch of older threads.

persnickety
&
audacious

There is the seldom used word thread, but this one is different.

Methinks I like it.

Persnickety is another favorite of mine... good one.

I always liked the word "snorkel". It doesn't sound like a diving apparatus to me. More like some kind of affectionate gesture you'd do to a loved one. IE: I squished and snorkeled my husband for cooking dinner.

Gurgle or gargle are fun.

Snorkel sounds dirty. Asin:: Me and my old lady had a good snorkel last night.

Overall is a good one. Works both ways. Words like that carry much use.

I have issues with hors d'oeuvres.

I think it's spelled wrong.

Just goes without saying.

I like the word "vacuum". Two "U's" in a row tickles me.

And of course the word "bookkeeper". Triple doubles also tickles me.

Elegant is my favorite sounding word, although I like it better in Spanish- elegante.

My favorite French words- pantouffles (slippers) and pamplemousse (grapefruit).

I'm not sure what my favorite word.

But when it comes to erotic stories, my least favorite word is 'cooed.' I cringe whenver I see it.

I like the word nincompoop. I like the way it sounds. Plus, it applies so perfectly in everyday affairs.

I like the word lollygagging. The first time I heard it said to me it came out of the mouth of the king of lollygaggers, my spouse. :)

sonder

n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own - populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness - an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you'll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

Couscous..

I just like the way it sounds. And, yeah, I'm saying it right now.

Couscouscouscouscouscous... :D

I did as soon as I saw it. It does have the effect, doesn't it, or affect, sortof even infectious.

This thread sounds fun. Here are a few words I enjoy saying:

tomfoolery
ubiquitous
colloquialism
onomatopoeia
ergonomics
xenophobia

My favorite word to say in Spanish is mantequilla (butter)
