I have found kick to be a nice private alternative to Yahoo. You can log on or out of your account and keep the app desperate from your contacts....
Wanted to start a let's KIK it spot to give out kick I'd which you can control and share for chats.

Alyssa- Kik is like Yahoo messenger for all the cool young kids.

Have not yet tried it myself.

Its a messenger service..no pay just text and pic exchange. However it does not show on your phone bill, its just data. You have the ability to sign in and out and not be on all the time, plus you set up your name so no one actually has to know your name or number...just a user name you create.

I've used Kik a few times, but Yahoo is still my go to messenging tool. I know it's a bit buggy, but why do people think Kik is better? I haven't found anything that Kik can do that Yahoo can't, and there are a lot of things that Yahoo can do that Kik can't (i.e. voice and video).

I think kik's just more anonymous and less clunky - and you don't need a yahoo ID to use it
