House rule change the GOP would rather you didn't know about

Let me slow it down for you, since I now realize that you have trouble reading.

You posted in a thread about Republicans changing the rules to prevent a clean CR, and only allow the majority leader to allow it.

Do you believe that this was a good idea for democracy?

Again, feel free to run away, deflect, or pretend like you don't understand the question.

Or throw insults. You like doing that too.

Maybe once you're done, you can declare unilateral victory. That would be SO unlike you.

Just to clarify, here's a

Not like you're throwing insults here. Never a reasonable man such as you.

Yes, of course because of the thread in which I posted, I must either agree or disagree with the topic and every post must of course be related to that.

So. I agree. The Republicans are the ONLY cause of this. They should Abdicate and turn over control to the minority party in the House and simply leave the congress to the democrats obviously know which bills are worth consideration and which are not.

Ok, so avoid the topic, deflect, and throw up straw man arguments was your choice.

I can't say that I'm shocked.

There has to be some way to get this rule tossed. Surely the will of the entire congress can't be thwarted by one man.

Eric Cantor has been declared dictator of the Congress by the House Rules Committee with a pure party line vote 9 - 4.

All GOP committee members (a fair number of them TeaOP members) voted in favor of the rule change, all Democrats against.

The rule change was added as a rider to HR 368
http://rules.house.gov/bill/113/hj-res-59-sa-1

House Rules Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) told Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) when she raised concerns before the rule change was approved.

"What we're attempting to do is to actually get our people together rather than trying to make a decision," Sessions said. "We're trying to actually have a conference and the gentlewoman knows that there are rules related to privileged motions that could take place almost effective immediately, and we're trying to go to conference."

"You know that there could be a privileged motion at any time...," Sessions continued as Slaughter continued to press the issue.

"To call for the vote on the Senate resolution," Slaughter interjected. "I think you've taken that away."

"I said you were correct. We took it away," Sessions said, "and the reason why is because we want to go to conference."

Except they DON'T want to go to conference. The Senate GOP has blocked every attempt, all nineteen of them, to call for a bimerical conference since at least April.

welfare, welfare
we need more welfare

forget about who shall pay
as long as we get more welfare

Ahhh, much better without that constant idiotic broken record.

Say Hello to Koalatroll and Dizzybooby Jen.

You're fired.. Hah, as if you ever had a job.

Republicans shut down the government because

Americans DO want affordable health care. The GOP is afraid Americans will like it. If Americans don't want it, why are the Koch brothers spending a quarter of a billion, yes billion, dollars PR to get young people to NOT sign up for it. Look up Koch Industries to see which companies to boycott. Let's start voting with our wallets.

so the only plan obama has is welfare and other entitlements

why is obama and the other demncrats so against lifting people up? to become self supportive?

I'm here to fix,
the people like you

but you just
gotta say
that you are broken

You can't even fix your shitty writing... how are you going to "fix" anyone else?

Get a job jenin... one that doesn't involve mooching off the government.

for you, the first step is to admit you have a problem. then years of rehab

you finally have health insurance, fix yourself

I have been paying for your welfare since I was 16 years old.

Get off welfare jenin. Everyone knows that you don't work for a living.

I'm wondering why none of the usual suspects have come careening in to defend this new change to the House rules. A blatant power grab by the majority that ensured that a shutdown would occur and continue until the new Dictator of Congress deems that the House should address any bill returning from the Senate.

Personally I think they're waiting for the spin of the day to explain why one man should be able to thwart the will of the majority and refuse a House vote on a clean CR sent back from the Senate. Because if that vote were held, enough sane Republicans would vote in favor of it to end this hostage crisis.
