LW, it was the St. Joseph County Grange fair in Centerville, which ended yesterday (sorry). The most awesome county fair ever!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Weather looks awesome this coming week, clear and warming up a bit again. :)

It's OK Kake! I'm probably saving money for next year not going to the fairs (again) this year! :( I will definitely go to a corn maze or haunted house this fall. Hopefully taking a date! :p

Weekend was good. Went with a few fellow teachers to the tailgates in SB for the MSU/ND game. Wish the game went better, but was quite an adventure! :)

Today, I ventured out to Goshen for a full bed frame for my future bed. Now I just need to find a truck to get the mattress over to my apartment. :(

*sigh* Now I have to start planning for next week. Have a good week everyone! :)

Yeah LW, Hubby was not happy with the MSU/ND game, he was swearing a lot! LOL
Congrats on your frame, hope you get your bed together before your fall dates!

Wow Kate! That is one big snake. No way would you find me wearing one of those.

Crane Orchards is fun. It's nice that their corn maze usually has two paths - one longer and one shorter so you can choose either one or do both if one just isn't enough for you.

I've seen some of the ArtPrize entries. Heck, they're all over the place. Can't throw a stone without hitting one. lol I meant to go into town this weekend and look around, but I didn't make it. Thankfully, it goes on for a while, so I still have time. Might need to go a couple nights this week and just see some small areas at a time.

LW - I'm surprised the mattress store doesn't offer deliver. Or are you just moving your existing mattress?

More challenging than this I hope? LOL

I'm glad ArtPrize goes on for a while so you have a chance to see a lot of it. This coming week looks pretty nice. :)

Would be a cool thing to see Nauti. I'll check the website out for a map.

Dozing in my chair here and must crawl to bed.
Hugs to you Nauti (((hugs)))
And all our other HI MI friends.

LOL. I have to find a good gal (and a way to get the mattress to my apartment) before that happens. :p

Thanks for all the links! They look like a lot of fun. My friend and I just wanted to do something different for our birthday, this year. I'm not worried about the martinis because I'm sure we will find someplace that does them well.

I think that corn maze for blondes will be perfect for my friend! :D

The Bells Beer sound good too!

Thank you all for all the help! I knew I could count on you!

And, you are a braver woman than I! I like to look at snakes, but 2 years in NC has given me cause to steer as clear of them as possible!

Snakes and corn mazes... yep, has to be Fall already.

Good morning all. How is everyone? Thought I'd drop in and update everyone on the 'goings-on' around my neck of the woods.

Broke in the new chain for my chainsaw, and broke it in on the magnolia tree. No, I didn't cut all of it down (I promised Jazz I wouldn't; it's her favorite tree), just enough so I don't have to rotor root my sewer line again. Damn roots! I now have a new brush pile behind the house. Took me three months to get rid of the last one, and I still have a pile of fire wood stacked against the fence. Nobody wants it, apparently. I don't know why not; it's free. Just take it, already!

On a somber note, Jazz's cancer came back. Most of it is still gone, but the tumors in her liver have grown back to the size they were when she started chemotherapy in April. She's starting a new round with a more potent and specific targeting dose (once every three weeks). We're hoping this will keep the cancer at bay long enough to have it go into remission.

She's doing okay. She's a little more nauseous than before, but the medication seems to help. And her hair is growing back. It's extremely short, like a buzz cut, but you can't see her scalp anymore. Her head looks like a fuzzy cantaloupe [snicker]... and it's coming in silver. I think it looks great, she wants it blonde again [more snickers]... and she has to shave her legs again [snorts]. I'm not 'mean' snickering; I'm 'happy' laughing with her. :D

We're planning a trip out west come next April. I'm taking her to Las Vegas... there goes my profit sharing check. We'll do the usual 'tourist' thing and snap a lot of pictures: the canyon, mountains, the Strip, and take Route 66 back home and hit all the cheesy, tacky tourist spots along the way. I want her to see these things... while we have the time. She says not to worry because, "We have all the time we need." She's right, we do.

Well, have to get ready for her next appointment this morning. Enjoy your week, everyone. :)

Captain! Hugs to Jazz, you and the family. Thanks for letting us know how it's going as you are often in my thoughts hoping things are going well. Some good news and not so good news, but the attitude is great for kicking this demon. :rose:
Your trip out west to Vegas will be awesome! The things to see and do on the trip and in Vegas are countless. You'll have a fabulous time.
Continued love and positive thoughts to you all.

'Our' birthday? Then a double celebration! :D You'll have a great time no matter what. ;)

Back to the bushel of apples that I traded the neighbor eggs for! Have to core, peel, and slice to make more apple butter and dehydrated apple snacks!
Hope everyone's week has started off well. :cattail:

Sorry to hear about Jazzy and her cancer came back. :(, hopefully that agressive chemo works and takes care of it once and for all. That sounds like a fun trip and hopefully you can find some time and do it! Wishing all the best Captain.

Don't have much to add what others have said, not to sure on the haunted houses out there if you need some recomendations on the tri-county area for haunted houses I'm your guy on that info.

I also second Bell's Brewery, I'm not a huge beer fan, but they have amazing beer.

Hope everyone had a great week! sorry missed ya'll had a call from the realtor last week so went up north. Thankfully don't have to endure another Michigan State loss like last week.

The Michigan Poem
That was inspiring Blu, thanks! Enjoy your trip this week! :rose:

Been a while since I was last on.
How have you been.
Beautiful fall
Kate nice fall pic.
Thanks MiGuy! Nice to see you again.
Those fall pics are a few years old now, but fitting for the season.
I TRIED to take some new ones trying to get some of the last of the summer sun yesterday, while working on a greenhouse to extend my garden season, but you can tell I don't get out in the sun much. Blinding!
At least the chickens came to keep me company....

Were the trees turning more up north Nimby? And looking forward to more trips in October? :D

We did an unexpected fun thing last night. Found out at the last minute that the AirZoo was doing a weekend balloon festival and jumped in the car and got there just in time for the 'balloon illumination'. Didn't realize it was an all day thing with food vendors, bands and a beer tent! It was pretty cool but wished we'd heard about it sooner. :)

Today was a local Harvest Festival and glad the rain had passed in time to go. More food and fun!

Hope everyone had a fun weekend too!
Posting a bit early as we have a campfire out back, going out to enjoy that and will be back later. :cattail:

We went to our local balloon fest after-glow night... it was really cool to watch. The littles loved it.

Nice pictures!

Yeah the tree changes are in full force, I ended up in Portage/Houghton Lake area, been looking for a "cottage" up there, and there is one I really like, but trying to set up a walk through has been a pain. Yeah I have a few more trips I have to take next month, :).

That looks pretty fun, sounds like you guys had a blast

Hi Daisee hope all is well with you and the family!

It is! Everything is great! The littles are getting SO big!

Are you looking for a lakeside place to invite us all to?

Great to hear Daisee, I bet how old are they now four or five has to be the oldest little one right?

Yeah everyone can come, its not actually on the lake tho, the house I'm actually looking at is a double lot, not much of a backyard tho but its 17k for 1700sq feet. It's more of a flip thing for me, would like to fix up and resell it and buy something else that is a little more secluded. It needs a lot of work done on it looks like there was some fire before it foreclosed, so the roof needs to be finished, and the siding on the garage needs to be taken care of, the inside needs an upgrade looks like some 70's decor going on. But the lake is actually on the right about 1500 feet and it takes you right to the boat launch

Oooo! A cottage! You'd really enjoy that Nimby. It's beautiful up in that area. :rose:

What I wouldn't have been to been that cock! :D
Hi LW. You get your bed all set up finally? :)

It's a beautiful night out. Was enjoying all the stars out by the fire. :cattail:
