Just want to make sure I'm not the only one seeing this message a LOT.

'Sorry, can't assemble the page'

Maybe 25% of the pages. On some stories it was every new page, and multiple times per page. Several reloads fixed it.

Everyone else seeing this? Any mention in the threads? Anyone PM Laurel?

I saw this once when I looked a story.

I clicked reload and it worked after that.

We've received a few emails about this over the past 24 hours or so. Earlier today I forwarded them all to our tech guy, and he replied to say he's on the case. :rose:

Thanks. I didn't want to bother you until I had confirmed it.

It was brought up in one of the contest threads, but didn't seem wide-spread or frequent enough for me to mention beyond that. Seems to have hit enough people for someone to report it, though.

It happened to me a day or so ago. The "can't assemble the page" message on my "cursed" story. I clicked again a minute later and it was back up.

I still get the message occasionally. One or two times clicking reload fixes it so no biggie for me.

I'm getting it fairly frequently now ( though a couple of taps on the refresh button does the trick )

This has the feeling of a database error that's being caught and displaying something generic so no sensitive information gets displayed to the end user.

Makes ya sound a little nerdy! ;)

same same

I started seeing the same a few days ago, continuing thru this morning. I quickly learned that RELOAD fixes it.

Reload does much better than hitting the back button and re-clicking the original link for me also.

Got the message a few times yesterday. A couple of refreshes got me through it.

Interesting that the site is coded in Assembler btw - who'd have guessed...

Still happening. I believe it's traffic related.

The two worst cases of it I've run into was when StangStar's story posted a few days ago. Just had it again on JPB's latest. Two popular writers. Read another less popular story, and no issues.

It does seem to be getting better - but I needed 3 reloads to get to the first page of JPB's story.

I'm getting it frequently, in both Firefox and IE. I cleared my cache and it's improved somewhat.

Problem Continues - Tuesday, Sept. 17

FYI; I'm just like the other posters as it has been going on for 2-3 days. My OS is Linux and browser is Chromium ver. 28. Hope this helps.

It has been hitting me too lately, reload fixes it, but it is almost every page.
