HI Michigan

I think the way things typically work is weather patterns come from central Canada, down through Minnesota and then over Michigan. I usually check the weather back home, and you guys always get what we get a few days later.
Usually...and then we send it over to NY! :D
Where did you used to live over here?

Except you guys never get as much snow as us.

Ann Arbor area.
Hey! We get our fair share of Lake Effect!
Hard to think about snow when it's still so warm....

Hi CM *waves*

Time to start the new Breaking Bad that's been building up on the DVR..better when you can zip through the commercials! :D

Some parts do, but mainly up in the UP. It's always weird thinking about how I'm at the same latitude as Traverse City.

Those of us that don't like the warm are fantasizing about that snow. :D

Hey everyone hope everyone is good out there

Hi Nimby!

Apparently everyone is as busy as we are here. Has been a dead run with everyone's work schedule and squeezing in activities, festivals and parties. Very full dance card and pretty worn out.

Seem to have eaten something that didn't agree with me yesterday, so an unhappy stomach today. Too much junk at the movies yesterday, or just over tired?
Planning an early bedtime but wanted to send hugs to all my HI MI friends on this Sunday.

Hope everyone had a good week and fun weekend. :rose:

24/M.. Just moved to Warren.. Grew up in Michigan my whole life and absolutely love this state! I am single ;)

Greetings from Niles! I have a new teaching job out this way and I'm very excited! Any ladies out this way? :)

Welcome BigDiesel and Lone_Wanderer!

We aren't a chatty bunch, these days. Sometimes, if you show up at 9 on a sunday night, you will find some people here.

Hi Daisee. :rose: Long time...

It's Sunday night. Anybody home? :D

Hi Nimby. I don't think Daisee's here - her post was from last week.

I'm doing good. How was your weekend?

Hahahaha yeah noticed that sorry, lol. Well it was short work week but did the bridge walk on Labor Day which was ok, weather was petty nice, since work was condensed we had some late nights at the office. This weekend was pretty good relaxed yesterday and played some hold as went to the lions game. Was looking rough there for a moment.

How was your weekend and Labor Day?

Both were low key and mostly relaxing. The alternator on the teenager's car isn't doing the job so we need to get that fixed tomorrow. (Had to go jump her car at work last night, and then we still needed to stop twice more on the way home to juice up her battery.) Bob was going to change it today, but it's in the most asinine spot on the sonata, under the engine! We decide it was best to leave this one to the professionals.

Other than that, it was lovely. Beautiful weather, Michigan won, I made pot roast for dinner. Sad to go back to work tomorrow.

Hey everyone!

Now that things have settled (slightly!), I have to say that it's not bad out here in the SW of MI. I'm about 10 minutes from South Bend (darn Irish, you should have won last night), so that's "civilization" I suppose. But at the same time, I overlook downtown Buchanan, which is s nice view (always wanted an overlooking apartment).

Sorry to hear about the car, Nauti. I fear my car might die soon too...

Well I'm glad it was relaxing and relatively quiet. Yeah I know what you mean with those Sonata's and the placements. We had a dealer car when I bought the car I got now (had to replace the windshield) and they gave me the Sonata to use, and was checking it out and it is in a weird spot.

Yeah this weekend was great. Booooo I was hoping the Golden Domers would win, sorry I'm a Sparty fan. Dinner sounds delicious btw. Yeah it's going to be rough heading back to work

Hey Lone Wanderer hope your doing well.

Embarrassed to say I fell asleep. Missed Breaking Bad too and had to watch it this morning!
Hope you got the alternator fixed. :rose:

Hey everyone hope all is well out there in lit land
Nimby! Yes, busy here too, and busy at work is a good thing. Means you're needed! :cattail:

Hi Daisee! :) Hope you, Cog, and family are all well. I'll rest up and make a special effort for next Sunday, you and Cog come too. Would be fun to catch up. :D

Glad you're settling in 'down in the corner'. Hope your car holds on!

Hello and welcome BigDiesel. Lots of wonderful Michiganders here, but many super busy lately. Glad to have you. :rose:

With classes starting up for the girls, I'm hoping for a little more routine and structure here after a very busy summer.
And some quiet time for me!
Hope all my HI MI friends have a great week.

Relax LW. It's just a location designation. You're down in the corner of Michigan. :)

Oh. And the snow... get ready! It's not like the other side of the state.

Huh? I don't get it. I suppose I'm a little closer to the lakes, but still inland... :D

Maybe that means more snowdays! ;)

Lake effect snow isn't limited to the lakeshore. Bands of heavy snow will push inland a good distance. Generally forecasts around here will indicate lake effect snow impacting the 131 corridor and points west. I don't know about more snow days... there will be some, but it's got to be a pretty big storm.

Hi just thought I would drop In and say hi from jackson MI.

Hello and welcome Chaoskitten! I'm nauti in Grand Rapids. This thread tends to be either very busy or very slow. Right now we're in a slow cycle. We try to meet here on Sunday nights around 9 when we can. That's when it's likely to have the most activity. Feel free to join us. :rose:

What do you mean by that? :(
How bad does it snow down here??

Yes, what Nauti said. Thank you for clarifying Nauti! :rose:
I'm in Kalamazoo which is considered 'down in the corner' of Southwest Michigan like you are. And Niles is even more in the corner of the state than Kzoo is. I was not saying anything bad about our lovely corner of the state. ;)

Plus, YOU have one of the few awesome haunted houses in the state near you now! :D

I'm not ready to talk about snow yet!

Nauti, is your daughter taking classes this semester? Both mine have started up at the community college and are enjoying their classes so far. Still working on keeping schedules for everyone straight around here!

Hi just thought I would drop In and say hi from jackson MI.

Hello and welcome Chaoskitten, nice to have you! :rose:

The St. Joseph County Grange Fair, south of here, started today (a GREAT county fair), but it was too rainy to go. We'll try another day this week. A favorite yearly event we never miss. Yay for fair food! :catroar:

Oh! And we got our first tiny brown egg from the new chickens yesterday, at only 4 months! I'd better start looking for friends that like fresh eggs if all 8 are soon laying. I'll have more than I know what to do with!!

Saying 'hi' early as I'm sitting here watching football and catching up here in a quiet moment. Will be sneaky and check back during Breaking Bad, Shhhhhh.
Hope everyone had a great week and weekend.
