No, no. A sex rain washed my mind out the gutter and into the sewer years ago.

It's been kind of tumbling around at the water treatment plant for a few days lately though. It must be I've written crap all for the last few weeks. (Well, excluding one Fawc story) My brains getting soggy but I'm sure it will come out all squeaky clean and pearly white in no time.

Yeah... right....

Aw, sorry to hear this, Ellie. If real life gives you a breather and you find the inspiration, you can always get it in at the last minute. ;)

I totally scored on one ingredient, played perfectly into my bunny. One of them though is just making me roll my eyes. If I mention it only a couple of times people may think I didn't really use it, but I will be damned if I will keep calling attention to a certain detail to the point I am forcing it.

This is where I'm with my fourth. I may have to just mention it 2-3 times and play on it a bit just to make it subservient to the story, not vice versa.

I'm having a difficult time getting past using all my basket items quite literally and directly - which feels unimaginative. Not sure I'll make this deadline, either. :confused:
 
I scraped up an editor for this one, but with their schedule the only way they can do it is if I send it one section at a time so they can edit one part while I work on the next.

Not ideal as they usually want to see the entire piece to see any inconsistencies, but best I can do. I need to finish by Saturday to have it edited for the deadline.
 
I think I'll be using my items pretty directly, but I think I found a way to fit them in, so it shouldn't be too bad. My beta reader (who doesn't read here) had a good suggestion, but it didn't fit for the idea I recently had. I will save that for another story. Now I just need to write it.
 
I have three of the four written in. The fourth isn't a difficult ingredient, but I'm not sure where to slip it into the story so it flows well.

Now if I could just stop hitting the delete key . . . :rolleyes:
 
It seems that elusive fourth ingredient is keeping everyone busy. I'm in something of the same boat, but I think I've worked in all four of the ingredients pretty well. One of them, however, seems almost like a "gimme," as in "I gotta put it in because I was told to do so." But I may have found the little twist that makes it more relevant to the story.

I think what is confounding so many of us on the fourth ingredient is that there are two personal quirks and two outside influences. It's easy to assign the quirks, I believe, and then pair them around one of the outside influences. But then we have that other influence . . . that's like having a third wheel on a date. What do you do with them?

But that's why this is called a challenge, right? ;)
 
I also feel a bit dorky trying to fit the physical ingredients in. I feel like I am over saturating when I do fit them in.
 
I'm going to have to take my name out of the friendly competition as well. My mother sent me a link to a great writing contest, and I've dug a (NE) tale out of mothballs for that. Since the deadlines for both are two days apart and the non-erotic story is related to the set of stories I hope to eventually publish, I feel the need to focus on it.

I'm really sorry about this. I'd even come up with an idea that was going to be a lot of fun, and quite different from my current stories. Next time, for sure!!
