I am undergoing a seriously exciting very difficult and life changing program that I would like to share with other people in hopes that someone like me will find their courage through my experience.
Any suggestions?

I use Wordpress. Works well for me.

www.wordpress.com

I was going to use blogger but it tried to tie it to my Google account and I wanted to keep mine separate from my non-kink life.

Wordpress is really good. You can also create a blog at Salon.com. I have been blogging on livejournal for years and years, and now mirror it at dreamwidth.com

I would avoid the google type blogs and stick to ones like tumblr and wordpress like other have said.

Am I going to have to build it from scratch?
Don't know if I even remember how to do that kinda stuff, never mind not having the time... *sigh*

How about you start by doing your job as moderator and move all the stupid threads from Talk to Cafe or Personals instead?

This place couldn't look much worse without a moderator at all.

I just use the Wordpress standard themes. just pick what you want and away you go.

Thank you but that didn't really help me find a place to blog.
And just to add *job* would imply a regular paycheck which to me is not obtained by moderating a porn board in my free time.

I have a very neglected blog on Blogspot. May I ask what the problem is with "the google type blogs"? I'm extremely uninformed about differences, etc.

I have some very good expertise and experience in this....kind of depends, anyplace is fine if its just an online journal....

there are techno nerds that will tell you wordpress is more versatile (it is) and I have wondered if I can use their platform on blogspot...

but if you want to REACH people and have your blog end up having lots of hits and good google results, remeber google owns blogspot.... so i use it for all my blogs that I am considering monetizing..(I havent bothered yet, but its something i keep in the back of my mind)

Wordpress if it's not going to have anything that could be construed as adult. Blogger if it will.

It is far more versatile, and no you can't. :)

However versatile is as does, and if what you really need is a blg that performs as a blog, versatility doesn't matter much...

Oh, didn't you know before that voluntary service includes nevertheless responsibility, despite the lack of payment? Poor girl.

And now regarding the blog:
There are already billions of discarded blogs out there that don't get any updates. Blogs are not for lazy people.
And the "Oh, I need to find the proper place for a blog" is just an excuse to not write. It's like "Oh, I need to lose weight now....but first I need to save for this $200 sport watch, before I start running."

KC, I started blogging on MSN Spaces, (yes, I've been at it that long!), which then changed over to Word Press.

I know lots of people love Word Press. I found it annoying and non-intuitive, but it's getting better (easier to use) and I'm slowly learning my way around. This wasn't a blog I started for money or "fame", so I didn't want to spend a lot of time on the back end. For those who do, I have heard that WP is quite versatile. (Though I find their photo options really frustrating).

You can probably find tutorials online for the various blog platforms, so you might want to look into that. Also, ask yourself why you want to blog, what is your end goal?

And, as much as I hate to reference that man, it is work, so be honest about the commitment you are willing to make. A single blog post can take me up to 8 hours to prepare, depending on the topic. And that's just writing/editing the post and gathering photos - and not writing with the goal of gathering an audience! If you want to build an audience, you will need to have valuable content and you will need to blog consistently. Most blogs last a few months, then the author gets distracted, or runs out of ideas for content, and abandons it. I am not trying to dissuade you from this, just pointing out the reality.

Is the subject you're interested in something you can share with us or not?

go away, you make me ill...and btw the world doesn't revolve around you....at least not my world.
If you know nothing of my life how can you assume lazy fits in anywhere. Before you make a judgment get your fucking facts. Plenty of people here know why I am only here when I can be and don't seem to have a problem with it. I would suggest that you end your harassment now.
People like you and your stupidity are the reason I don't come here unless I have to. I think a lot of people don't come here anymore for the same reason.

I won't share anything on this thread because of the fools around lit but it is something very close to my heart that I need to share with others in my situation. I will have much time in the thick of what I am doing to be able to write for endless hours. It may not last forever because what I am to write about will eventually be completed... although the blog might take a life of it's own and continue. I won't know that for a while.
Thank you to all who had constructive input for me :cattail:

If you can't do two simple tasks while you are here, then don't blame me. I didn't expect you to log in daily or weekly or even monthly. I didn't complain either when nobody moved the one or two junk threads. But when the first page has 50% junk threads _and_ you are here, yes, then I expect that you do your job first. If you don't want to move threads when you are here: resign, because you are useless as moderator. Then it's at least known that a replacement is required.

Are you putting your hand up Primalex? Seems you think you are suitably qualified. I wouldn't complain unless I was willing to step up.
