There is a reason there are sticky threads at the top of most forum boards, across the internet, such as "New faces, come say hello," and "Welcome To The BDSM Talk Forum." They're intended to introduce new folks (that would be you) to us, and introduce you to the purpose, intent and "rules" of the forum.

There are also such additional fora as the BDSM Personals forum, which would be a more appropriate venue for your post above, and this post:

Taking a few moments to orient yourself to the purpose and intent of a forum's members can go a long way toward integrating yourself into that community rather than being thought of as a just-out-of-school-for-the-summer wanker who wants to find some quick masturbatory fantasies or cybersex.

BDSM Talk (this forum) is intended primarily for at least semi-serious discussion of BDSM topics, questions, concerns and issues. Our "child" forum, The BDSM Café, is a much more open forum for play threads, discussion of almost any topic under the sun, BDSM-related or not, from the point of view of active, curious or interested BDSMers (with, of course, the caveat that roleplaying, salacious back-and-forth messages/posts, etc., interrupt threads, and are encouraged to be taken to private messages or an otherwise more appropriate venue).

So... welcome to BDSM Talk and the Café! Please be assured that this message is not in the least bit sent to discourage you from participating here. It's intended to give you a bit of heads-up to help inform you and help you "fit in" a bit while you get your bearings, so you can join a community that actively welcomes both young and "old" folks wanting to learn more about the BDSM culture, the people who practice it, and *how* to practice it - a community that includes people just starting out, or thinking about starting out, and some who have been doing WIITWD (What It Is That We Do) for years, and many in it for decades, just about all of whom are more than happy to share the experience and knowledge they've gained over their time in the culture, knowing that the Next Generation is what will keep our culture alive.

In over 15 years of searching the 'Net for a community of knowledgeable and helpful BDSMers, THIS forum is the one I've stuck with for almost nine years. These are good and helpful and caring people with lots to share with those who care to "listen" (and then make their own decisions). Not all advice you get here may be helpful to *your particular situation,* but the majority of it will be well-intended and well-thought-out, and may, if it sticks in your head, be applicable to something else you run into later on. There *are* some asshats around - I can be one of them at times; I have a singular distaste and revulsion for people who don't, won't or can't think - but it doesn't take long to figure out who most of them are... and at least one of them, while being an asshat more often than not, comes up with occasional gems of insight that keep him off my Ignore list (not that he cares, lol!).

For the record, Sir, I really hope I've never said anything so stupid.

I used to come on here when I was younger, about 17, 18, then I forgot my password like a bimbo so I kept recreating another one and people are like, "Hi! are you New? Welcome!"

In truth I'm 27 now, I've been on and off here for about; almost nine years but I just don't have the coolness factor that you do I guess.

Wow... I know we all get embarrassed when we get called out and get a little bit on the defensive side...

But Sir Winston took an awful lot of time in ten something that in and of itself could be a sticky.

He went to quite a great deal of effort to give you some genuinely constructive feedback that could have to turned this whole thing around for you.

Myself for what passes for so-called real life have often come across as being somewhat condescending, if I don't keep my exasperation with people in check.

I don't think he was in anyway condescending I think because you needed schooling on the lot of different subjects you perhaps could have taken it that way but he directed you to a lot of great resources so sorry this thread is not dead cause I'd hate to see that post off sir Winston's go to waste.

Kind of interesting, academically speaking

Lunch females there's kind of a subgenre that I think of is Braddy subs not my cuppa tea but I get what they get out of it and I understand what their admirers appreciate.
