Okay, I have been speaking to a couple of people about exercising and they have asked about accountability. I know this is an Adult Literary site, but well we have all kinds of crap on here, LOL. So, I'm wondering if people would like to join my bootcamp thread.

In this thread I will post photographs and posters that are motivational to exercising.

We can discuss eating healthy and I can even share meal plans and recipes. ( I don't believe in dieting, only changing habits to become healthier)

We can all help each other keep accountable. Not sure if many will want to do this or not, so chime in and let me know. I searched the playground and did not find an "exercising" or "working out" thread. If one exists then my apologies.

I'm going to put some basic things here up front.

A. I am not here to yell at you, LOL....only to motivate. I know, bootcamp was probably a bad choice of words.

B. If you want to look at a scale, that is up to you. I recommend you don't at the scale. Rather take measurements of your chest/waist/hips/thighs/and biceps. Loosing inches is much healthier than loosing weight, but for a time they are connected.

C. You don't have to purchase an exercise program. There are tons of things you can do without spending money. If you would like suggestions on programs, ask me in the thread or PM me and I can work with you personally.

D. Eating......You don't have to give up everything at once! But stopping certain bad foods here and there should be one of your goals.

E. Goals.....Don't do this without setting a goal. Keep your goals attainable, if you need help setting goals, ask, I will help.

Good luck!

Motivation

My first form of motivation. Please don't think I wan't all women to look like skin in bone....this is just about getting healthy. If you want to.

You are not going to control if I do my push- and sit-ups, are you?

I'm not going to control anything. I am merely starting this because I think there are people that would like motivation and accountability. How can I control anyone? I'm not coming to your house or anything LOL. I may ask you how you're doing? Or have you met your goal today? But really I can't control you.

That's alright then.
I am already very good at sitting up, you see.

The title 'bootcamp' brought a TV documentary to my mind I saw some time ago. I lost all willpower to exercise after that. To have someone screaming in your ear to do x push-ups more... *shudders*

Ahhhh....hmmm yea, I see your point....I'll take it under advisement, but not sure I can change the name of the thread now.

So, are you in?

Well I can promise there wont be any yelling, that's for sure. This is about positive motivation and everyone is welcome. Those that are currently exercising can post stuff that they do to help those of us who are not. ;)

Those that are not, can contribute a bunch of different ways. Someone that is struggling with exercise and reads " I was so tired today, but I did 10 push ups and sit ups" can be highly motivated :)

I started back Monday... Walked 20 min and biked for 10 min.

Wednesday biked for 30 min

Plan on biking tonight again for 30 min

I am doing this for me I feel better and need a way to stop the stress from getting to me so I am focusing on that as my goal

:rose:

This fluffy girl isn't starting until Saturday. :p

Welcome PL1 and people can start when and where ever they want. Its not a race, but I will post some suggestions for those who are just starting or wanting to start exercising.....THIS WILL NOT COST YOU MONEY....unless you want it to.

Way to go FGG! you can beat that stress! getting 30 minutes in is better then sitting on the couch! You can do this!

So I've been working out first thing in the morn after I drop kids off Mon-Friday for the last two years. I just wanted to feel better. Why was I constantly sluggish? Dragging ass. Always thinking when I could get that nap in. So three months ago I pretty much stopped eating all processed foods. Occasionally I'll have some nutty bread or a tortilla but that's it. What a difference it has made in my energy! I rarely take naps anymore. So last weekend I took a road trip and tried to eat as well as I could from restaurants. But over a two day trip I immediately felt a difference. It took me another two days of being in a fog for me to get the will power to pull myself out of it. So back to healthy choices. Lots of veggies, I don't skimp on meat, making everything from scratch.

I joined a gym the end of January because they were having a special. I worked out everyday when I lived in North Carolina, but I lagged off after moving back to Michigan. Well, with my house in need of organizing I wouldn't do my workout. Well I got to the point of either getting back into shape or buy larger pants.

So the last 3 months I've been working out at least 4 days a week. I alternate using the weight machines two days a week and the elliptical stair climber the other two days. After 3 months, my size 14s are getting baggy and loose. I can wear them without a muffin top! I can get into my size 12s but I have a muffin top. My next goal is to be able to get into them with out the muffin top. I think when I get there I'm going to buy myself a sexy corset.

My ultimate goal is to fit back into these size 10 shorts I got from Cabela's a few years ago. I think when the weather stabilizes here, I will add an evening power walk.

Aquagal, you are ABSOLUTELY Correct. Actually this was going to be one of two things I recommend today.

1. Do you best to stop eating processed foods. Lunch meats, stay away from nitrites and nitrates. As a rule, when you grocery shop, purchase 90% of what you buy along the outer wall of your shopping store. Think about it, the outer wall is The deli, the produce, the butcher block, dairy and freezer. Stay out of the interior of the store as much as possible.

2. Okay some of you will not like me here, but this can drop weight and inches fast! Stop drinking pop, or soda, or coke, or whatever you want to call it. I don't care if its the diet kind or not. This stuff is just crap. Also, start looking at labels....Today, if you find something with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! This stuff will cause cancer, seriously, and a lot of fat! So try to stop letting this into your beautiful body.

Okay, those are the tips today. Remember, Get away from LIT and the Couch for 30 minutes.....if its raining out, do 10 push ups, 10 sit ups, jumping jacks then 10 more push ups and 10 more sit ups then more jumping jacks (3 minutes each set) This is a minimum for a beginner....Get your heart rate up....If you can do penetration sex for 30 minutes rocking it out, THAT COUNTS!
