Who wants to talk about TV shows?! I DO I DO!

I'm going to be recording the new Orphan Black series. I'm super excited over that and the new Doctor Who episodes, now that I've gotten Mister Man watching Dr. Who, he's starting to get into it as much as me. He's pretty hard-hearted about TV shows, though, he's not much into TV so getting him to watch anything but brainy documentaries is like pulling teeth.

What are y'all watching now, or gonna watch?

I just saw an add for Orphan Black! It looks really good.

I've yet to watch Dr. Who: I think I may do a summer super marathon. I know I would like it.

I'm also excited about the new one coming up on Scyfy: with the aliens? Defiance?

I'm watching The Walking Dead, of course, and I confess to Supernatural and Vampire Diaries.

I've also been watching Haunted Collecter, one of those reality ghost hunting shows as research for a novel I'm writing. Super Creepy!

There's more, but that's all I can think of for now ...

I rarely watch TV and even more rarely watch anything with intense gore and violence. That said, I have to admit to being hooked on Game of Thrones.
Ok, Ok, so I also admit that I spend a lot of time cringing and wondering when it's ok to look again, but the rest of the time it is quite rich and captivating.

How could I forget Game of Thrones? I'm waiting patiently for that one to start up again. Just a few more days!

I haven't owned a TV for something like.. ten years? but I am seriously thinking about subscribing to Adventure Time online...

heh.

Tis honorable, all you tv-less folks...I just couldn't do it!
I love The Walking Dead, despite the gore.Big Bang Theory cracks me up,and Vikings is my newest obsession.
Dr Who this weekend! Finally! Better be more than four episodes or I might have to firebomb BBCheadquarters...

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Game of Thrones, Vampire Diaries and 2 Broke Girls are pretty much the extent of my TV watching.

Looking forward to the new Dr. and GoT coming out soon.

And I keep wondering if they'll ever bring Torchwood back with the cast that got introduced in the Miracle day series.

But I doubt it.

Also - Team Damon!! (yes, I said that. You have my permission to snicker loudly in my direction)

Do you get the Sherlock Holmes series with Martin Freeman in the US? I think it's on US Netflix. That's a good series, in the same vein as Dr Who - we're currently waiting for Series 3.

Grimm, Walking Dead and Modern Family.

Oh, and my guilty pleasure is Finding Bigfoot. I just really want to whisper in the woods all night wearing a trucker cap that says "Gone Squatchin.'"

Crap. This sounds like a series both of us would enjoy; unfortunately, our local cable "provider" doesn't serve up BBCAmerica.

I'm with you on the GoT part - completely and shamelessly addicted. Violence rarely fazes me, however. Except horror movie gore violence, that gives me nightmares. Weird. L wants to see more of the dragons. He is always complaining at the scarcity of that storyline.

I think I've posted this before, but it's very funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7lp3RhzfgI

Mostly I just don't have time to watch TV. But, when I do - The Daily Show, 30Rock (sadly, over), and Star Trek in its many incarnations.

The only way I'd watch The Walking Dead is if you strapped me to a chair and forced my eyes open a la Clockwork Orange.

I do think The Wire was a masterpiece of storytelling. That series may have ruined me for all others.

I don't watch very much tv but sometimes I find something I like enough to actually follow.
Couplings a few years ago, Sherlock Holmes, The Big C for a while, Downton Abbey for a while, Foyles War - thinks like that.
I loved what I saw of The Wire but I missed too much to keep up. We'll make it a summer project like we did with Mad Men.

I rarely actively follow a show, but if K's watching certain shows, and I'm not doing anything else, I'll sit down and watch them with him. Currently, we seem to watch a lot of the Big Bang Theory. I also like NCIS (the original, not the LA version). I adore Clean House. Um, I think that's it, but there's probably something else I'll watch with him.

How could I forget about Grimm? I love me some Grimm.

Strangely, nowadays the only things I really watch on TV are reality/contest shows. I've watched American Idol for a few years, same with The Voice, but this year they just aren't interesting. Stupid new judges.

Me and my mom have been hooked on Hell's Kitchen for the past few years (which is strange because any type of cooking show is just... not me).

In terms of semi-old shows, I'm currently on a House binge. I have two seasons, and am determined to get the other two I want soon.

Hmmm...I can't remember the last time I actually sat down on a regular basis to watch a scheduled television show that did not involve a sporting event played out on a hundred acres of green land that takes four days to complete. Yes I can; it was for the first few seasons of The West Wing. These days I watch Big Bang in reruns; Guy fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives when I catch it; and have been having fun catching older series through Netflix. Currently working my way through Cheers and The West Wing, both for the second time after watching the whole series in real time. One of my guilty pleasures is a British automotive show called Wheeler Dealers.

What do I miss most about television from my younger years? Test patterns. It used to be fun to wake up very, very early and turn on the television before broadcasting for the day would begin. Television stations used to sign off late at night - often with a recording of our national anthem played over video of a flag waving in the breeze - and then put up a test pattern image that then stayed on all night until the station signed on again at, say, 6 am. I used to be the kid who would watch the test pattern for a while until the early morning University on TV classes would begin.

Otherwise known as the snow show??

I preferred the grey, heavy rain sounding, kinda gritty looking one to the zigzaggy black and white buzzy one.

midwestyankee - I have a test pattern t shirt, it's almost as cool as my "T-rex hates push ups" shirt. The closest you get to test patterns now is an endless loop of world locations with soothing classical music.

I've been hearing a great about Orphan Black. I'm going to have to check it out. We also watch Dr. Who but we don't get BBC either.

We've enjoyed Torchwood in the past.

Misfits can be great fun as well. My fav actor is long gone from it though.

Sweet smoking zombie jesus! Who saw the Walking Dead finale? Wow!

And who also watches the Talking Dead and heard the creepy caller they got?
