Except Obama has been tougher on border control than any recent president. Does he actually need a moat filled with sharks with frickin lasers and two electric fences before his plan is at least viewed as a step in the right direction?

Give me a fucking break. All of that, the fence, the increased Border Patrol staffing, all of it, was passed and funded during the Bush administration. Obama is merely riding the coattails. He's actually tried to dial it back in some areas and enforcement has improved in spite of his efforts.

Conservative News outlet CNS News reports that border security efforts have increased under Obama.

“From Fiscal Years 2009 to 2011, DHS also seized 74 percent more currency, 41 percent more drugs, and 159 percent more weapons along the Southwest border as compared to Fiscal Years 2006 to 2008.”

Border patrol agents are at an all-time high and security is better than ever. If Obama is making efforts to decrease border security then he really sucks at it.

I don't defend the fact that they came here illegally. But given that trying to catch and deport 10-20 million people isn't an option we should look at what else we can do.

Republicans believe in an amnesty program by a rather large margin. Until they find out that Obama wants it as well, then they oppose their own beliefs. And I don't see Democrats doing anything like that. We didn't see Republicans acting like this either until they had to watch Black Hitler win two elections.

well, deporting people via Amtrak and Greyhound could make both of those government entities profitable?

Truth be told is that many of the jobs that illegals find, are jobs that most American's will not do. Also, the feds do not want this as they enjoy the free loan by illegals sending American dollars out of the county. Lastly, if we kicked out all the illegals this would be very disruptive for our economy

police aren't allowed to check the status of suspected illegals pretty much shuttingout the chance of catching half of them. Sanctuary citys knowingly harboring the other half, of course the only answer left is amnesty. And i doubt a segment of the population believe in something till they find out their

Do some research sparky, big Sis picked the year 2004 for a reason. 2005 was the year that Bush pushed his immigration reform and congress, and the people, pushed back with a demand for increased enforcement. That was the year that the bill was passed authorizing the fences and the dramatic increase in BP agents. Obviously building fences along with recruiting and training agents takes some time. Obama is reaping the laurels for acts of congress which he had NOTHING to do with.

In 2004 Bush requested, and was authorized 10,000 more BP agents (from a base of approx 5,000 agents). Subsequent requests and congressional authorizations through the years 2005-2007 targeted a BP force of 21,000 agents by the year 2012.

Obama didn't have a fucking thing to do with it.
