I am growing strawberries as well now and just havested my beetroot and it was lovely

The only beetroot I have ever liked was home grown. I'm going to grow my own strawberries this year. Sure beats the stuff thy sell in thr shops.

Did you know, people who eat a lot of curry and chilli (think India, China, Japan, Indo) have much lower rates of dementia and alzheimers?
Something in hot spices protects the neural networks.
It's true! They are doing studies right now to find out which compounds protect the brain.

I adore hot food, of every kind :D

Don't much like the honey bourbons - I haven't had sugar (or anything sweet that isn't fruit) for over 7 years now.
Those blends are far too sweet for me :(

Yeah I don't think most guys will like the honey blends, I think they are tryng to get more of the female market. Most women find straight bourbon too harsh and usually will blend it with coke.

Not sure about the studies in to mental health. I know chilli is good for your insides, flushes out the toxins. Not the reason I like it, I just like spicy food. I even go for the hottest salami's. Couldn't eat chiili when I was a kid, once I got into my 20's I could take it.

Well I better go, that curry isn't going to cook itself. bye for now:kiss:

bathurst!!!

Missed the LOT!!!!! 12 hour shift at work today, I'm so tired I'm not sure which way is up. I'm buzzin so much it's like I'm hooked into the mains.

I'm sure I'll get to see at least some of the action. I really didn't realise it was the 50th Anniv!! *hanging head in shame*

Used to love Bathurst weekend. Was a Dickie Johnson fan (Signed up to that sponsorship team thing he did). Bowie, too. But Dickie's kid leaves me cold.

It was a bit funny yesterday. I was watching a bit of the horse racing thinking it was in Melbourne only to realise I was watching the rain falling at Randwick. It was raining in both ciities at the same time.

Yep don't really see why we need daylight savings anymore. The summer days are long enough without it and you end up leaving work when the heat is at its peak cause its been building up all day. Plus as the moment we go back to waking up in the dark after getting used to seeing the sun on the way to work.

The only positive news is that women's fashion shows more skin...

Yep. That rain was widespread and solid. We still need more to fiil dams here. Was good timing for those fires north of Sydney.

Going to work in the dark this morning was a bit ordinary but the sunrise was divine.

Lots of white limbs on display around here before the rain came. A few sunburned, too.

Wouldn't make any difference if you did proof read...I'll probably take it somewhere else.

Yep I believe in mutual pleasure...but I do enjoy exploring a woman's body ;)

Tangents are a good thing. There are no surprises on the straight and narrow.

And being thorough can have it's own rewards, :D

There's a huge difference between Dick Johnson and his son.....
We took the Sierra that Dick came out of retirement to drive with his son to Symmonds for signing (1:18 model) and while the legendary man was happy to sign it - and spent 1/2 an hour discussing the race with us - trying to get Steven's signiature on the model was a hell of a process.
In the end, I had to get Dick Johnson to take the model up to the drivers lounge and force Steven to do the signiature for me. Every time I had approached him over the 3 days, he refused to do any signings for anyone!
He can be incredibly rude to the fans that support him.... we don't though. We just wanted that model signed for our DJ collection.

Well I lost any interest in Bathurst when they stopped using production cars of the showroom floor & find it boring these days & even the great John Harvey says the same.

Well I'm hoping my new meds help sort out my depression as BANDIT:heart: & I look back I should have been treated a very long time ago, just finished the first week but it takes a month to kick in & really work good news is that it settles OCD down which BANDIT:heart: is looking forward to.

Some things already kicking in is Blood sugars are not swinging wildly like they were & more stable plus the best news is I'm actually getting decent sleep which has me feeling a lot better not working on lowering BANDIT's:heart: stress level.

Holy Crap, Gil! You don't do things by halves, do you????

Glad to see it's getting sorted. The depression thing mixed with no sleep is no good at all!!! Hang in there, buddy. :rose: Bandit is a very special partner. :rose:

My thing is that when I hear 'Oh, I don't watch because it was better when...' I remind people that 'when' has gone.
'When' is never coming back.
If I want to watch the car racing, I know that it will never be the same as it was back then.

Good to hear you're getting some treatment that is helping with your sleep issues and with dealing with your illness.
And trisk is right..... bandit is an absolute gem, and I think you should give her a huge hug right now and tell her just how wonderful she is.... because she's awesomely looking after another gem of a person - you

The main reason I haven't been able to sleep normally for over 12 years now is my mind won't shut off & although it's only been a week now I am getting a lot more real sleep without the thousands of things racing around my head.

BANDIT:heart: is so very special & a wonderful loving person, I'm blessed to have her love.

I don't watch now but when they were real cars off the showroom floor drivers really had to drive them & who won was in the best car driven by the best driver, todays cars are so tech supported & easier to drive it's a case of $$$ YES there are lots of good drivers but when they have a guest drive of the old beasts (Monaros & GTHOs) they come back saying how did they race these.

As for BANDIT:heart: we have lots of hugs & kisses plus always tell her how wonderful she is which makes he blush plus how much I appriciate her.

You are very blessed to have each other, dear man. :rose::rose:

NASCAR is pretty but gets boring fast, at least he wants to watch a real race, but it's all just circles to me. I usually only wander in for the first bit and then back for the last bit, shocking I know. :D

Last lap of the latest NASCAR race was interesting.

Fucking hell - my thumb is killing me!
Had a skin tag deep-frozen yesterday, and the damn thing hurts more than when I've had it surgically removed!
Every time I do anything, I hit my thumb. Cutting chicken for szechuan tonight has been a long, slow process.
Damn it.

Apart from that.... my man bought ANOTHER jag today. This one is a white 1976 in original condition for $1400. Yes, it's registerd and running :)
I'll get to see it in about another month, when I head back to Darwin for another booty call ;)

I pick up my rower tomorrow. I cannot wait to be able to do my excercise routine at home.... at the moment, it's an almost 4 hour trip to go to the gym!

For some reason, I have been feeling incredibly relaxed and peaceful today. Zero stress, everything (apart from my thumb) has gone exactly right, and I am feeling sweetly happy with the world.
I  days like this.

I am in such a good mood today!
Where is everyone?

How is the thumb?

Hasn't been a good day for myself after several years of getting the thumbs up from the eye clinic the doc sends me for a urgent scan of the artery in my neck but the hospital can't fit me in so doc rang an outside place & got me an appointment for noon tomorrow & no real idea what he saw in my eye so I'm in panic mode not knowing what the fuck is going on as he only said just checking. :(

Naturally BANDIT:heart: is stressing too. :(

My thumb has a huge black circle on it. The pain level has gone down a little - except when I accidentally use it or knock it

Not good news re your eye/artery. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious, or at least treatable.
(I have an idea what it might be, because an uncle had similar, but I don't want to speculate on an open forum.)

I've had an awesome day - apart from a herd of cows escaping and running rampant through my driveway and garden!

Neighbours cows? BANDIT:heart: has told me stories about Neighbbours cows running amok.

Yeah I did a google & we are a little less worried although the thought od why they need to access vis the groin for an artery in the neck has me worried, i hate having my groin fucked around with & won't know what the plan is till I see the eye doc on monday so think I'll be laying low & taking it easy till then.

Now to bed to cuddle BANDIT:heart:

Yeah - neighbours cows. But it turns out, they didn't just escape... the gate was left open by someone who may have stolen a few!
There's something to be said for old-fashioned branding. These ear tags are entirely too easy to get off and change.

My baby girl and her baby girl are coming to stay for a couple of days. The chickee is learning to cook - so she comes up here every 2nd weekend and I teach her a few new recipes.
Today we'll be doing thai green curry. Tomorrow is carbonara.

I think I may be getting addicted to my new rower! I absolutely love the fact that it is a cross-trainer and I can feel all my muscles when I've done a stint!

My man was on the phone last night, begging me to come back up to Darwin
I'll go at the end of Nov.... too much to do here for the moment!

On another note, my rescued bird is just about ready for release. He's fattened up a bit and is able to fly again. It will be a bit sad when I open the aviary door.... I've kinda got used to him being around. Might let him go Sunday.

Well its nearly a week since this post and you guessed it...more rain how's that for timing. Yesterday was a real return to winter. Has caught a few people out, just when they thought they could put the warm coats away...the south pole comes knocking on the door. These chilly winds are coming straight from there. We seem to of missed the really heavy stuff, unlike the people in NSW. I've seen the pics on TV. It was even snowing in the high points around Adel. The poor reporter was freezing his arse off as the snow was falling on his coat.

Well I don't have the issue of white limbs, just less dark parts that don't see the sun. I certainly don't need the tan...but you know my GP said my vitamin D levels were low...what the? Must be a sign I'm getting old or that we haven't had much sun in the past 4 months.

I am a detail person...so I do believe in being thorough...and exploring all options ;)

I was busy...or should I say I was tired from a busy week, then it was bloody cold so I had to go sit near the fire....

Had the day off today. So tired last night that I slept for 9hrs, normally only need 6.

It doesn't seem to make any difference what day I take a day off there are always lots of people at the shops....surely they can't all have the day off like me...lots of mums with little kids, but lots of other people as well. No school holidays either, made that mistake last weekend when I went grocery shopping...it was like they were stocking up for an earthquake...

I'm having another awesomeness day :D
My baby girl is here with her baby girl (sadly, she had to bring her bf, but I am a complete cow and can deal with it!) Not really, although him driving a Holden is a slight is-sue :cattail:

We had some rain here. Not much though.

Hey WQ

Glad you are enjoying your day. I had cheesecake before...store bought, but was a baked cheesecake with strawberry topping....yummo...it was my reward after doing normal stuff like going to the bank, paying bills and wandering around the shopping centre and going to medicare. They never put the shops you want to go next to each other and of course the big ones like Kmart, Big W, etc are always miles away from each other. I reckon they do that on purpose so you have to go past all the other shops on the chance you will buy something from those shops as well.

Lots of rain around so not the day to go for a drive to the beach, which isn't far for me. Did get to watch a game of NFL as well, so that was good. About to go and hang out the clothes now, before it gets cold again.

Have fun with your cooking and your daughter...

Julius, the green lorikeet I rescued at the end of July, was released this morning :)
I love seeing animals and birds go back to the wild after I've helped them!

We've had this topsy-turvy weather, as well. 25 one day, raining the next 2
and cooooooold, fine in late teens for a day, then bloody SNOW!!!! Was very pretty. My street looked awesome at 5am, but not quite real. All the early risers turning up to work with snow still piled high on their cars. Talk of the town, it was! :D

My gf in my teens had beautiful dark skin. I remember sitting on the hill at the Gabba with her saying 'I'm soooo pale', as she slathered on coconut oil. And I'm looking at her and then at my anglo-celt whiter than white, dripping spf5000, going wtf???? She thought I was blind.

Mmmm. Exploring all options is the sign of an inquiring mind. ;)

Snuggling down to escape the weather probably helped you sleep, as well. You obviously needed it. :rose:

Mr Elf, you DO live in a city!!! One of the wonders of such a metropolis is the constant bussle in CBDs at all hours. My little town is mostly packed away by 7 except for a few eateries and pubs. These daylight savings evenings are great for a quiet evening stroll. School holidays are just ended so we have our little town back through the week. Weekends are torturous though, and will be until March. Chrissy holidays are hell. I'll be tearing my hair out by midDecember!
