Evening all,

Had our first real burst of summer today, cool change already here down to high teens tomorrow with some wet stuff for the next couple of days, just in time for the weekend...oh yeah, no mowing.

Hope all have had a good week. Nice and quiet one for me at work after the last few weeks. Don't forget daylight savings on Sunday, hate that crap.

After cursing the universe and all things mechanical, yesterday, and threatening my new mower with a VERY large sledgehammer, the bloody thing started firsdt go this afternoon and purred it's way through the entire lawn! So I am unfazed by said approaching inclement weather and laugh in it's general direction! HAH!! :D

The last week has been truly glorious here. Summer dresses the go. We do need rain, though. It's now getting very dry. we're never really satisfied, are we?

I'm sorry that you don't like daylight saving, Mr Elf. Lovely looooong balmy evenings sitting in the shallows on the river, sipping something cold is one of the most perfect experiences on this earth. :cathappy:

Well since this is your present, I'm happy to wait for my turn, besides when you are enjoying a spa your not thinking of returning the favour...its kinda like that...

Continue with what I'm doing...well now you certainly are living on the edge...my darkelf intentions could take my hands and tongue anywhere ;)

Oh my. I really should proofread what I write....

A greedy girl would ensure that the pleasure is mutual, no?

Blame it on the bubbles...... :)

You'll all be three hours ahead of me instead of two. It's not fair!

This is the other reason why it's not fair! I'm sure you all know that WA tried daylight saving for 3 years. I was gutted when the referendum didn't go through.

:p

well I'm really glad you got a mobile car...I really hate those non-mobile ones, although parking is a breeze.

I've found that no matter how much sleep you get you never get that time sleep time back so you're still playing catch-up no matter what you do.

Wow so you went all that way to Darwin to do laundry...awesome holiday so far...and blokes that than organise a meal...must be something in the water...oh wait there is...:D

No, I didn't go to Darwin to do laundry!
I meant when I got back up here to home (I live on a hill) :)

My time in Darwin was from the 22 sept to 01 oct.
But it's ok to misunderstand..... hell, I think I have only just now detoxed and begun to make sense again myself!

The only bit I dislike about daylight savings is that I have to wake up in the dark again for a while.
It's nice to wake with the morning sun streaming over me.
Apart from that, I love it!

So, I got all pissed off with my hair and had it cut today.
I now have a concave bob, with curls (damn these Shirley Temple ringlets! Totally not suitable for over-40's!)

Also, put a downpayment on a rowing machine today. I am getting back into body sculpting - already have the weights, but need a cross-trainer. I would go to the gym, except it's an hours drive each way. Much easier to do it here.
I went and saw a friend who is a fitness trainer, and she put me through a fairly tough program to see what I still have, and what I need to work on.
Turns out all my muscle from yrs ago when I did sculpting are still there and I just need to resculpt and build a bit to get back to where I was. She's done a program up for me.
I am sitting at 55kg, so I really need to do something that's not so much for losing weight as defining muscle. Rowing will give me that, and it can do the whole body which means I only need the one machine.
And the boys will use it as well, so it'll be worth it.
I feel a bit wrecked after my session.... bits of me hurt that haven't for a long time! (But I guess that only shows how much I need to get back into it!)

Got my kidlet's NAPLAN results today.
Not really sure how effective they are in showing how students are really doing, but the kidlet is showing as well above national levels, so I'm not going to worry too much about his results this year!

I am growing strawberries as well now and just havested my beetroot and it was lovely

Mmmmm.... I love fresh beetroot!
I use it a lot in my juices, and also make a wicked beet and kale salad.

Daylight savings began today. My body clock needs to adjust a little - I woke up thinking it was earlier than it really was

Morning people! Another lovely qld day, hope everyone is good. :)

Morning kiss :)
Way good here... bathurst day for me! Bourbon, good racing, good food (the boys are making gourmet pizza for my lunch so I don't have to miss any part of the race by going to cook).
16 degrees and sunny here, so basically even the weather is helping make a perfect day!

What's your plan for Sunday?

Wow - major tyre delamination issues at the mountain. Looks like it may be on the exit of turn 2.
This opens the race somewhat.

Oh no! Tander and Percat may be out.
What a shaaaaaaame!
(That was sarcasm. We don't like Tander.... he's an arrogant asshole.)

I'm super busy... scheduled in a nap for later followed by some drinks and a bbq. My favourite kind of Sunday.

Hubby on the other hand has plans to watch cars go around in circles. :D

Circles?
He's watching NASCAR?
;)

NASCAR is pretty but gets boring fast, at least he wants to watch a real race, but it's all just circles to me. I usually only wander in for the first bit and then back for the last bit, shocking I know. :D

Hahaha.... unlike many fanatics, I actually understand that not everyone likes motor sports!
But you should know, it becomes far more interesting and fun if you time the bourbons with the pitstops and safety cars ;)

OMG! What an incredible finish to the 50th anniversary Bathurst today!!!
I do believe that Jamie Whincup's drive today, with no fuel left, no tyres left, and almost no brakes left in the last 6 laps will go down as one of the greatest ever Bathurst wins.
:D:D:D

Heh..... I think I set back my detox today.
Bathurst needs bourbon.... lots and lots of bourbon... :D
I am a superhappyslightlydrunk chicka this evening! My boy won!!!

I'm glad I can entertain - life is much, MUCH too short to be boring!

How's your Sunday treated you?

It was a bit funny yesterday. I was watching a bit of the horse racing thinking it was in Melbourne only to realise I was watching the rain falling at Randwick. It was raining in both ciities at the same time.

Yep don't really see why we need daylight savings anymore. The summer days are long enough without it and you end up leaving work when the heat is at its peak cause its been building up all day. Plus as the moment we go back to waking up in the dark after getting used to seeing the sun on the way to work.

The only positive news is that women's fashion shows more skin...

Hey WQ,

Trust me lovely lady you are never boring :rose:

Agree with the bourbon idea...been drinking coffee all day. I recently tried that Wild Turkey and honey blend and I find I like it. Now I see that Jim Beam is also testing the waters with a honey blend. You certainly don't need coke with it, its sweet enough. I haven't tried that Devil's Blend yet but aim to buy a bottle to see the difference.

Yeah it was an amazing finish right to the line. He nearly lost it. At those speeds it only takes a slight movement for it to turn to crap.

My Sunday has gone rather quickly. Slept in and lost an hour so it was midday before I knew what was going on. Thought of doing some gardening but the rain yesterday and early today put that one to bed. Off to do some cooking at the moment...curry on the menu tonight. I like my chilli as well. Nothing like a hot curry on a cold night.

Did you know, people who eat a lot of curry and chilli (think India, China, Japan, Indo) have much lower rates of dementia and alzheimers?
Something in hot spices protects the neural networks.
It's true! They are doing studies right now to find out which compounds protect the brain.

I adore hot food, of every kind :D

Don't much like the honey bourbons - I haven't had sugar (or anything sweet that isn't fruit) for over 7 years now.
Those blends are far too sweet for me :(

Wouldn't make any difference if you did proof read...I'll probably take it somewhere else.

Yep I believe in mutual pleasure...but I do enjoy exploring a woman's body ;)
