The Construction Thread

I actually had them on, only because this dress is short. Orange with "Sizzle" on the ass. Hope they enjoyed the show!

So, no panties with long dresses....I'll remember that

not likely cause I forget everything lately but I would like to remember it

So what's the backstory on that "no you morons that's not how you do it, gimme that..." ??

I'm the only management on site today so when they needed the proper placement of the lifting hole I had to drill it. It was made from my drawing so I knew the steel placement.

Plus, yeah, I'm sure they weren't upset that I had to go straddle a big piece of concrete in a dress.

You couldn't just lay it out?

16 Missing in Chinese Expressway Tunnel Cave-In

"Chinese state media say 16 people are missing following the cave-in of a highway tunnel under construction in the country's southeast.

The Xinhua News Agency said Monday that rescuers are searching for those trapped in the collapse Sunday night near the city of Ganzhou in Jiangxi province. The tunnel is part of a 3,429-kilometer-long (2,130-mile-long) expressway running almost the entire length of country from north to south."

“If you have an asset that lasts for 20 or 30 years instead of twice as long, it has a much shorter earning life before you have to refurbish or tear it down.”

“Will China still be able to pay for another round of infrastructure development—or will its cities become landscapes of dilapidated buildings?”

The Cracks in China's Shiny Buildings

That's by design, not accident. Steady work for the workers, keeps them from sitting around unemployed and starting to blame all their troubles on The Party.

Now if the World Trade center fell sideways that would have created more jobs.

What is being built on that permafrost?

Indeed, there is permafrost there, but that's near shore sea ice that the equipment is on. They are installing a pipeline from a drilling island to shore.

What the hell is that? Is that a scraper? It almost looks like a shuttle car that would be used in a mine.

It's an oops. The boys in ND are working so fast that there is no shortage of "fail-of-the-day" photos.

So I got the job shut down and all trades sent home on account of a gas leak. Working in the sidewalk vault right on top of a 4 inch gas line .Yesterday I smelled gas, the rest of the gang agreed they could smell it too. The building guys checked it out with a small detector and didn't find anything, so we went back to work.

Getting ready to start welding today in the confined space, smelt it again. Called the building, they didn't find anything...they borrowed a bigger detector, didn't find anything. Then we were standing there talking and the detector started going off in the guy's hand as he was talking to us.

FDNY comes, they don't find anything.

Con Ed comes with their fancy super sensitive detector, finds two leaks in the gas line and shuts the whole job down.

A good nose is better than those fancy detectors......
