The Last Thing You Thought...

I rarely remember my dreams, but I actually had a weird one last night.

I was graduating from high school again, and we had to ride these escalators to get to where the graduation was. We realized after we'd gone from escalator to escalator that we were just going in circles, though, and had been on the same set of escalators for like an hour.

Then, suddenly we were going to some party afterwards, and were running along the highway but I had no shoes on. There was a huge accident at the end of some ramp, but it was all dark.. like they just left the smashed up cars there, but there was no police or people around. So we had to run around it, and the highway was like deserted and dark, but for whatever reason the place our party was at was brightly shining in the distance.

...and then I woke up.

*nods * That is strange, but considering how your life is in upheaval right now it kind makes sense. That party shining as a bright light could represent home. *shrugs* though I'm no dream expert.
I've always had vivid dreams sometimes they tell stories or several and sometimes they have me scratching my head. It's the nightmares I dislike.

LTIT: Could use a really rough, animalistic mating right now. Preferably with my Mate, but haven't found her yet, so, it sucks. Then read the stuff about dreams. I always have very vivid dreams that feel real, and are so friggin weird. I don't remember much of them though, only fragments after a few minutes of being awake.

*nods, rubs eyes sleepily and sniffles* Yes, it is.

Morning All :)

LT:
That was an odd dream.
Damn, you stuffy nose.

*gives a small yawn as she settles back in with a fresh cup of coffee*

Morning, Sia.

*contemplates her reply to M13 and an opening post*

Last thought? Britwitch is gorgeous. Just checked out her pics, and damn, Mr. Britwitch is a lucky man.

I will not open that email. I will not open that email. I will not.

Why do I not listen to myself?

Why all embarrassed over a lil bit o the truth Brit? Hehe, tis plain as the freckles that coat me like a leopard. xD Other thought: Who the fuck feels guilty that there is no work that is needed? You arent shirkin so relax.

*sigh* Now that my plans for a nap with FD have fallen apart (damn this Zoo I live in) I'm going to go back to working on this opening post. It's almost done.

Alright, so barring your specialty loads, the .357 Magnum cartridge is typically a heavier and more stable load. Either way, .357 or 9x19mm, you're still operating a pistol cartridge that isn't designed to be effective beyond 100 yards. You knew all that, sure, but it sounds like you're firing these rounds out of a lever-action?

If you're firing lever-action then you're firing rimfire. That is going to hurt you right there and not only because of the rimfire itself. You're also going to see rounds perform poorly at range because they aren't cone shaped.

Basically, you're firing a pistol round that isn't designed to be very effective at range and firing it out of a weapon that was notoriously inaccurate at range compared to larger caliber centerfire rifles.

So, while it's the poor craftsman that blames his tools, in this case I'd just say you've found out the limits of the rifle. You sound like you shoot all the time and my guess is that the combination of a relatively small pistol round and a historically inaccurate rifle are the trouble.

Hmm, I'm afraid I left some confusion. Let me try to clarify. The Henry rifle is chambered in .357. It is centerfire. It is lever action. The accuracy on that rifle is just fine, very good in fact. I have no complaints on that one whatsoever. I don't care to shoot much beyond 100 yards anyhow, so it satisfies me.

The gun in question is a Berretta Storm 9mm carbine. It is designed to use the same magazines as the M9 pistol that our armed forces use. And what perplexes me is that I can chew the center of a bullseye out of a target with it at 30 yards or less. But the same gun, same ammo, and of course me as the same shooter, when shooting out to 50 yards spreads the group out to around an 8 inch circle seemingly at random shot placement. I just can't figure out what is happening in those 20 yards between 30 and 50 that is so much different.

Maybe you are right in that it just isn't meant to be used that far out. I think it is essentially a Close Quarters Battle (CQB) type of weapon, and for ranges typical of that use, it is just fine. Also, it is polymer, and I wonder if it is getting some flex in the body of the gun as the round fires. I just don't know. Maybe I'm just trying to push it farther than it's intended use. I tend to want to do that because shooting to me is a hobby I enjoy because I want to challenge myself. I want my weapons to exceed my capability in all instances so that I can constantly challenge myself to get better. To find a gun where my capabilities as a shooter exceed the quality of the gun is disappointing.
