Listening to your dirty little secrets...

My dirty little secret song isn't something that I don;t want others to hear, it's something that I would need to be back in LA to really enjoy.

Cop Killer

The thing that really embarrasses me is that the ass hole is talking about killing for free.

Rio - Duran Duran

I move that this be stricken from the record, as Duran Duran is one of the best bands to ever come out of Britain. Either that, or I am guilty of this.

Add me to the Duran Duran fan club. I think their critical rep is on the
rise, but they are still chased by their pretty boy image.

They are on tour :D

Too many to name. I enjoy cheesy songs when I'm in the mood. Same for... dare I say it... rap :\

Dare, dare!

Another one of mine: Stevie Nicks

As long as we can keep this between us friends, I'll mention a few of mine:

My wife gives me grief over this one: PCD

My daughters have a problem with this one: Christina Aguilera

And I think everyone in the house has heard this one enough: Black Eyed Peas

The rest of the world would never guess that these are among my favorites.

They are on tour :D

Not only are they (Duran Duran) on tour, Mr Penn and I saw them last October (3d time) and he's taking PennBoy to see them in Atlantic City this Saturday night. They put on a good show.

I actually can't say I'm embarrassed to listen to my guilty pleasures, but just today I listened to Meat Loaf's "Bat out of Hell" in the car while running errands. :)

I like fluff. Can't help it.

I'm telling everyone I see :D

Yeah they do, plus the crowd does lots of dancing :)

I did always like Stoney and Meatloaf... but shh...

George Michael/Wham. Which wouldn't be so bad, I don't think, except that when I'm having a bad day it's not unusual for me to close my office door, click open the video for a song like Freedom 1990, and sing and dance around my office to it, over and over again.

I also own waaaay to much George Winston. I have a lot of shame there.

And a lot of rap. But I embrace the ridiculousness of a financially secure white woman from northern New England listening to rap.

Unlike my favorite Office Space character, who really does keep his dirty music secrets . . . secret.

Seriously, I dunno if I can post rap songs myself. I actually believe it be a musical genre full of talent (maybe not so much recently).

Except for maybe Will Smith. The man has good flow, what can I say.

Now Mr. Michael as a song writer is great, one of my favorite covers that I can never listen to when anyone is around, cause I sing it... Faith/Fame

If it makes you feel any better, at all, my first concert was a three-fer. Katrina and the Waves, Chaka Khan and Wham! September 1984 or 1985 at Vet Stadium in Philadelphia. :)

I like closing time
Milkshake
and I once listened to this song for over 24 hours straight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKCccyZvtIo

and I would have worn out my avril collection except I listen to it on my computer (I think many of the songs had been played at least 1000 times)
but never go see her live, she sucks. I've been to many concerts in the last 4 years, and her's was the absolute worst, she had three opening acts, and the first two sucked, if I could have I would have walked out until she came on. and her preformance was only mediocer (the next worse was reba, who sang for 30 min, and didn't have a lot of energy, at least not for $140.00)

As soon as the heatwave sweeps in, Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' does not leave the car. Windows down, fingers pointing and voice wailing...there is no shame.

Another, huge Glambert lover. Why he needs eyeliner is beyond, nonetheless, love him.

It's not my fault, but when the kids are in the car, we tend to listen to:

"Abraham's Daughter," Arcade Fire
"Beautiful Colors," Duran Duran
"Make Me Lose Control," Eric Carmen
"Dancin' with Myself," Billy Idol
Some Power Rangers thing called "Everyday Fun"
"Days like These," Asia
"Make Believe," Joan Jett
"Don't Cry," Asia

These are some CDs that my son and I made. Our own mixes. ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't go around telling people that.
it's mostly this part and the music that has me hooked

Oh the women tear their blouses off
And the men they dance on the polka-dots
It's closing time
And it's partner found, it's partner lost
And it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops
It's closing time

Good kids. Just make sure they don't tell their friends.

Actually, Mr Penn is taking our son to see Duran Duran this weekend in Atlantic City. We also discovered a while ago that his friend's mom is a big DD fan -- right up there with Mr Penn, in fact -- and when the boys are together, they often spend part of their time listening to and singing along with Duran Duran.

PennBoy despises Justin Bieber.

Being a JB fan would be something to be ashamed of. Anyone willing to own up to it?

Mr. Tat and I heard part of one of his songs on TV a few months ago, and . . . wow. The thought of 2022's version of JB was probably the only time we've been truly fearful of having two pre-teen girls in the house at the same time.

We had to turn the TV off and talk each other down.

I only have one I'm embarrassed about...

Aqua- Barbie Girl

I love everything from Chickenfoot to Carly Simon, to the Carpenters, to temple of the dog...

Son admitted to his closest friends this week that he still listens to "Close To You" by the Carpenters. No one made fun of him.
